hi everyone! i'm officially done with midterm/project week as of 1pm today fuck yes!

i wrote the worst exam ever earlier this week where we had to read 40 pages of a report before the exam and another 40 pages during the exam ickkk. glad that's over and done with!

omona, i had an encounter with the ASPCA last night that did not make me happy. I live in Los Angeles in the crenshaw area, and I (along w/ everyone else in my household) consider it to just be the LA area because, wtf we live in LA.

My sister and I found a dog on our street last night, and this was a puppy about 8 weeks old, a pittbull mix and he had mange and a very bad case of fleas, so normally my sister and I would've kept him in our backyard, but we couldn't at the risk of him infecting our own two dogs. We look up this one Animal Shelter, and we know there's one in West LA, so we head over to that one.

We get there and the guy working security won't take the dog from us. Why? Because we didn't find it in the West LA neighbourhood so they couldn't take him. When asked why, he says it's in case someone lost this dog, and we explain to him that the dog doesn't have owners and we've been seeing him for a while. The guy says no and so we start to head back to our car. As we're walking back to our car, we run into an actual animal control guy. We ask him if he can take the dog and he says the exact same thing. We become frustrated with him because wtf? why can't he take the dog regardless of the neighbourhood, it's his job.

Anyway, we drive the dog to the shelter that's in our neighbourhood, which is apparently South LA and none of us who live in that area actually knew that, and they take the dog and say that the mange is able to be cured and we go home.

tl;dr ASPCA are assholes with their rules. Are my sister and I in the wrong for being upset with them for refusing to take the dog from us simply because it wasn't the right neighbourhood? When they could just as simply take the dog to the right neighbourhood in the morning, AND it's their job to take the dog from us?
