i thought it was interesting, but the host is UNBEARABLE. she acts like seoul is on some other planet. underground shopping - what fresh hell is this?!
christ, seoul is just like every other city, no need to gawk over it like it's completely foreign.

i legit almost turned it off when she was talking about coming back at a more civil hour. even if she was just joking ... get it together.

and she definitely tipped me me off that she's completely oblivious since she said it was night and there are no drunk people around. things that do not happen in korea: there not being drunk people around after 10pm.

yeah that was the only part of her review that i didn't particularly like. everything else was pretty on point tho in terms of her reaction----i think there is this..blindness? she couldn't wrap her mind around the fact that her face was the IDEAL and didn't bother touching on WHY that may be.

i HAVE noticed that by korean beauty standards most asian models would be considered hideous and i find that interesting.

all in all it was a pretty interesting watch...

this is very interesting. it's pov is definitely of an outsider. some of the comments the reporter were a bit off, but overall, i think this was educational enough.

but i would've wished there was a warning on how graphic some of the scenes would be.

i was surprised by the stuff infinite was saying and that such an interview took place. and then someone intervened and i'm not so surprised anymore.

that couple underwear bit was cute.

it was a bit off-putting having to hear and read hanryu. i'm more used to reading/hearing hallyu.

i pretty much had the same reaction as her when the plastic surgery patient made a noise while supposedly under anesthesia. but wow! i was not prepared for all the cutting/tucking/sewing that they showed. :os and i'm surprised at the amount of natural light coming in to their operating room.

I wasn't surprised at all by that Infinite interview. It reminded me of the Exo-k interview they did in China, where all the comments they made directly to the Chinese host were polite and well-scripted as usual but all the side-comments that they assumed wouldn't be translated were much more weird and snarky. Like Exo-k, Infinite didn't say anything rude or offensive, just stuff you're not used to them saying out loud.

it was interesting to see it from the pov of someone who probably doesn't know much about korean culture.
the couple choosing the same underwear was cute~~
I actually like the host yeah some of the comments were ... but I prefer her honest opinions *shrugs*, just like her I will still be surprised about the beauty standards and have mixed feelings about it.... my opinion is more like the girl from North Korea~~

I liked it but yep the host was kinda annoying with her 'omg everything is backwards here' attitude. I really liked the barber guy and that sassy fashion designer (hey he's in B1A4's hello baby lol). I never knew he was the one who came up with the Shinee sherlock concept, wow SM branches out to fashion peeps.

The short interview with INFINITE was soo random but funny. Lol that it had to be cut cos she asked them about girls.

yeah ha sangbeg has actually been working with shinee since juliette days and maybe even before. as he described in the video he was the one who created those nearly backless (and super fierce) sweaters they wore for a lot of juliette perfs and in the album photobook.

is it so uncommon to ask inifinte about their ideal girl? why would that be a reason to stop the interview? o.o

i liked dat rockabilly hairstylist xD clearly in his own world, shitting on kpop.
and lol ha san baek at a loss for words when asked about how much control the guys have choosing their outfits. XDDD

i could've well done without the footage of the ongoing ps T_T creepy~.
anyway that woman was a good example of how ignorant foreigners can be to an unknown culture. she knows all the facts but doesn't understand the emotions/beliefs behind it. ofc she would upset one or the other person.

did anyone else think the plastic surgery part was distorted? not really the stats because it is rampant there, but she has the idea that asians get surgery to look "western." i was cringing when she felt bad she said the chinese girl didn't look like her. i don't blame her because that was what she was told.

it's not true that the ideal is a white person. a higher nose or bigger eyes is more apparent on non-asian people, so i feel like things got mistranslated or improperly articulated.

and the pic at the end... lmao i wasn't expecting that to be in this video.

This was really interesting, thanks OP.

Charlet Duboc slipped up a few times but she'd be the first to admit she's still a rookie in many ways, it takes time to make the transition from model to host.

The last part made me a bit queasy and why was she allowed to interview the surgeons while they were in the middle of a procedure? She wasn't even wearing a face mask.

Finally I understand why so many idols have botox: it makes their jawline look slimmer.

Really interesting. The North Korean girl is so cute! It's really fascinating (to me, as a foreigner) how South Koreans view North Koreans. I think Gyuri's mother is North Korean? idk but the whole South Korea vs North Korea reminds me of my country and Serbia, although I guess Japan vs Korea would be more truthful.

Anyway, I enjoyed this. The operation interview made me really uneasy, as I don't think she shouldn't have interviewed them as they were doing the procedure. I was cringing throughout the whole thing.

Interesting video. The host was insufferable for the most part however.

I found the procedure for the plastic surgery fascinating (and at the same time gross to watch) because I sometimes wondered what it looked like, especially considering that a fair amount of idols have gone through this same procedure. But I cringed that the patient wasn't really "asleep" during the procedure(was that even legal God) I found it funny how the surgeon didn't even answer her questions about the mindset of South Korean women for thinking that getting plastic/double-eyelid surgery is very important for their self worth and how young should South Korean women get surgery.

I didn't expect to see D-Unit in this. I wonder what happened to those other 3 girls. This was kind of shallow for being 30 minutes long and it didn't really deal with the fashion aspect as much as making a spectacle of plastic surgery, but I guess it's all about aesthetics. I mostly wish it had a tighter more cohesive narrative and a more informed, interesting host.

Sorry for the long comment!!
She's going HAM in the beginning you are not on MARS woman chill out.
Died at "X-rated filth".
3:59 Homie is working that bonnet with so much sass I love it!!
Fashion is fashion & your body is your own canvas do whatever you want with as long as it's not life threatening IMO.
That barber & those dusty Queen Helene products lol, but he's so sane though!! his outlook on the spread of disposable kpop & it's fashion is a breathe of fresh air!
That must be so suffocating to live in a society like that, it's almost like George Orwell's 1984.
Ha Sang Beg is hilarious.
The Infinite interview was going the right way LMAO.
Wow at that girl smuggled in from NK1!
OT- The interviewer has a medusa piercing.
Wow that was a good video!!But the interviewer/investigator seems to not think before she speaks.

thought this was pretty interesting but nothing really that a kpop fan wouldn't already know. the couple underwear segment was really cute too they were totally made for each other.

and if i may speak to my bias, i always love to hear sangbeg talk about shinee and how they have zero choice in what they wear haha. he was spot on with his comments about taeminnie though. to some fans he'll always be a baby and that can arouse some... interesting reactions lol.

it was rather interesting watching someone who has never been exposed to S. Korean culture & see her reactions, even though at times she was rather annoying. My favorite part of the show was when they interviewed the punk dude. His comments about korean pop culture honestly hit me like bricks of truth. "The fact that their taste in fashion and music is being widely spread across the world is quite embarrasing. (foriegners) have that stereotype (of Koreans) based on what these idol bands are portraying to the world... I want them to understand more about this than kpop. The culture during those days (refering to K-rock), in the 70's and 80's was far more interesting... It's pitiful. Very sad actually. It makes my heart sore." dayum. it seems like kpop can be more of a leech on organic korean culture (not the manufactured, corporate kind.) plus the purpose behind his style was a stark contrast to the punk wanna-be's at seoul fashion week.

last comment: omg the stargate couple were too cute, I hope I find a relationship like theirs someday. I was horribly traumatized by the surgery. if that didn't put me off to ps, I don't know what would. :(
