The fan (over)reactions over B.A.P not sounding 'fierce' anymore are hilarious Ikr. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, essentially.
I love Stop It. It's so freaking catchy/well-constructed (and Himchan's line is actually my favourite part, go figure). I can't wait for the stages because - lol - there was no dancing in the MV.
Yes Sir is awesome (but was perfect without Daehyun's last big note, imo). Happy Birthday is par-for-the-course for their ballads, though v v pretty (and hello random water-drippy noises in the background).
I feel like Yes Sir would have been perfect if Youngjae could have done the middle whoooooooa yeah, but I guess it's not possible. (OTOH, if they don't secure the opportunity to perform both the intro track and Stop It for comeback week, they might never have to perform Yes Sir live, so surely Youngjae could have pulled it out for the studio recording?) Alternatively, if it were a tiny bit shorter with Daehyun only doing one massive oh yeah for the end. I love Daehyun the mostest, but I get a bit antsy when everyone else is done singing and it turns into the Daehyun Show for extended stretches....
I also really love Stop It, and it feels imminently karaokeable, which I hope means it will go over really well. (Crash also seemed karaokeable, but Iiiiii didn't like it all that much.)
Happy Bday will probably grow on me as their other ballads have done.
for me it's not quite up to their standard. i like BAP for having a distinctive style and those songs sound like they could have been done by Boyfriend or Teen Top or something and there wouldn't be a difference. and it got me told off on youtube for having opinions. i'll give it another listen in the morning, maybe it's just my lack of sleep talking and i'll like it better when i'm awake, because i loved all their songs up till now.
I agree. It's in a similar vein as "Crash", the kind of song that could have easily been sung by Teen Top or B1A4. It was only through the lives that "Crash" sort of distinguished itself as a BAP song, because they were really hilarious fecking around onstage. I get the feeling that if they do the same for "Hajima", I'll probably end up liking it a bit more than my current lukewarm feelings.
And yeah, you do not want to say anything contrary to popular opinion on YT (even if you're a fan of the group and you express it in a civil, constructive way), because you will get reamed by the cray-cray stans. T___T
It is not like they can do fierce forever, they should take advantage of the fact that they have young members to do these types of concepts. Plus being fierce all the time is really tiring. I am glad that they are trying different types of concepts and music.
Happy Birthday is very soothing and their intro songs are always awesome, Yes Sir is no exception. Daehyun voice sounds strained towards the end, kid needs a rest from those high notes. I am liking Stop It now after a few listens.
Mte, i actually like they tone down for this single for their benefit actually. They've been releasing single by single this year and it's nice to see them slow down with all the dancing.
It's autumn right now in korea and stop it seems to fit the mood of the season.
yup, plus this song is soooooooo cute <3 I like fierce B.A.P. but I like this one as well, they need to let people know that they have good looking and adorable members as well (because some people seem to think that B.A.P. = scary yankee or sth) plus, this song is better than their 'fierce' releases after Warrior tbh.
there's a fine line between experimenting/showing range and losing your identity in music/being schizophrenic. I think it would be better in the long-term if their music revolves around a kind of sound that reflects their personality or musical tastes more, rather than jumping completely from one sound to another or mashing different genres together in a rather incohesive way just to cater to every kind of audience there is out there.
I kind of disagree, because it's one thing for groups that have no involvement in their own music to need to have a particular "signature", but when the members themselves actually have input and (supposedly) want to do different things, I feel they should branch out as any composer might. I mean, b.a.p input is usually limited just to BYG's lyrics, but the track he's had the most input in creatively and in composition is Voicemail, and that's not, you know, particularly similar to their signature tracks (ie. Warrior/Power/No Mercy).
Also (not that Himchan composes or anything) Himchan's said in a semi-recent interview (http://itsbap.tumblr.com/post/34008774682/do-not-re-post-on-tumblr-only-reblog-please) that he would want to "mix music from different genres", so perhaps it reflects their personalities after all? ¯\(°_o)/¯
(Or perhaps you're speaking on a purely strategic level? In which case ¯\(°_o)/¯ but we don't live in that reality and as it was Crash was their most popular release so far, so. orz)
I've actually been wondering what music BAP could do that would stave off BOTH the 'they're being samey' AND 'they've sold out' sorts of remarks at the same time. I thought No Mercy was a step in the right direction but people didn't seem to like it either, lol.
Maybe more Unbreakable-/What The Hell-type songs might do the trick. Or Goodbye-type songs, as I've been plumping for for a while heh.
These are all the songs. I too wish they'd waited to release these songs as part of a full album. I like the songs but it seemed almost unnecessary to release them. I thought 'Crash' was a nice way to end their promotions for the year but TS clearly had other plans...
I like "Yes Sir" best, and it's the shortest track orz...
I mean, I will probably end up liking "Hajima" after watching the lives, but now I'm just eh okay. And "Happy Birthday" is a pretty standard r&b ballad, they've had better ones on the Warrior and Power singles.
Ok so lots of people are losing their minds because they think this song isn't like them, but if you watch their variety-show you know that this suits the personality of a majority of the guys more than the raw rough songs. I like this side of them as much as the Warrior side. They can definitely pull it off.
Also, can I just say how GLAD I am that Jongup got more than one sentence? Now all we need is a bit more Himchan with his godly sexy voice.
WOW, I think id the best album so far! Stop it- Rocking in my head the moment I heard it Yes sir- I wish it was longer because it's plain awesome Happy Birthday- I am gonna have this beautiful song play on my Birthday XD
