I think that interview clear these rumors coz she didn't say they more passionate than anyone it's just they are really passionate about music right now(more than before, I think) that the whole world is noticing
The 3 oldest are fluent. Minzy got some phrases up in her sleeves but no one bothers to take initiative, other than CL. Its really sad, if CL doesn't talk... no one will.
They recorded their English a,bum with Will.i.am almost two years ago, but everyone pretty much thinks it will just be forgotten and never be released, unfortunately :(
They should just work on English album with YG's own producers since Will.I.Am doesn't seem to be capable of producing a song with which they could debut and just release that album in Korea and Asia. And as there are plenty of Korean American producers now in YG, so language shouldn't be problem. I'm sure some big label signs them up if the album is good enough and they will get their album released worldwide with good promo.
Tbh it seems like Will.i.am doesn't care enough. There's this 'huge' explosion for Kpop and he's not even going for it or even working in the studio. It sucks. You'd think they'd t least release SOMETHING with their tour or he'd spot them a little bit, to piggyback off of Psy.
They finally figured out no one cares about Will.i.am or anything he does. They are lost, we don't care about commericals or what designer you are wearing. They have to come with the music and they just don't have any so they will conintue to TALK about what they want to do. Why have 3 other members, Beyouce figured that out. CL's English has really improved, and you could tell how sad she was about how their English album went down. I wish they weren't so adverse to interviews and stuff... they're going to have to step up and maybe give in and practice on variety shows before they promote anything in NA.

God I'm starting to feel bad for CL...Dara and Bom are really double-edged swords in the US. I feel that these awk interviews serve to only highlight how foreign they are, as CL being the only one talking pretty much suggests that the rest have no idea how to. YG, please fix this problem of theirs.

The song is catchy but it's almost like a gimmick song. It's one of those that sticks in your head, even if you don't want to like it. I avoided it like the plague and started to hate it just on principle. I avoided ANYTHING Psy.
I accidentally watched an interview with him on a live radio show and my opinion of him and the song took a drastic 180 degree turn.
His English is good but it's not better than CL's. What he has is genuine interest and love for what he does. He also has the ability to stop and give thoughtful answers and to try and express himself, even if he doesn't have the words for it. He also seems as shocked as everyone else and very gracious about any attention he recieves. It really helps not to be a posturing brat.
To have a closer and more relevant comparison I'll use GD. You can't really compare an almost middle-aged, very experienced artist to someone in their teens or early 20's. You can but it's unfair.
GD is a wing-nut but he's savy. He knows exactly how to use his image and he does it. His English is about on the same level as CL's but he is thoughtful about answering his questions in the same way that Psy is. You can tell that he is honestly into what he is doing, that he tries to have a hand in every aspect of it and that he is comfortable talking about it to whoever is willing to listen to him. Listening to him in a serious interview makes people who wouldn't give him a shot, stop and take the time to maybe reconsider.
This is not 2NE1 hate. This is also not Psy or GD worship. I don't really want to like any of them but Psy and GD/Bigbang seem to suck me in. Nothing about 2NE1 entices me yet and this just pushed me farther away. To me they just come across as exactly what they are. They are just another idol group wearing too many ugly fashion statements at once. Some of their songs are ok and I like Cl's rapping at times.
