It's such a shame that the mv is so intensely ... WRONG because the song could have been pretty okay. I like the trot feel to it? But the mv was such a turn off that I can't just get myself into this mv (and the song will just remind me of the mv) at all :/
And honestly, I understand the whole bollywood influence in kpop but JESUS CHRIST, why does it have to even take PLACE in a fake bazaar and have ~choreography~ like ..... just ... stop. :/
i feel like i'll get some flak for this, but i honestly don't see the huge deal about the video. i don't feel like they're making fun of indian culture really, but i also don't see why it had to be set there when the circus scene didn't really go with it. but people will never be happy. everyone is eithr pressed that a group will go out of their way to hire ethnically different people, or get mad when they use koreans to stand in instead. just enjoy the song. it seems like it'd be a pretty decent song when they perform it.
I don't see the big deal either, but I'm guessing some people were offended/afraid the video would offend. I thought they toed the offensive line quite well. If the Korean girl was wearing a headscarf, then we might have some issues but all I saw was them depicting a circus coming to a fantasy(<- I think this part was quite obvious) Arabian bazaar and one of them catches the eye of a girl and...then..everyone gets drunk and passes out? Something like that.
I'll tell you what's offensive: those braids. wth.
i don't even know what that bazaar's supposed to be. at first i thought it was trying to look *~indian~* but i'm pretty sure i saw some (probably fake?) arabic on one of the signs.
I think it's quite catchy. :D I like the guy who sings the chorus and I think the rapper is really cute. He looks a bit like Brian Joo, Andy Lee and Baro had a baby. :|
It was like seeing a group made up of Shiwon, Brian Joo, GDragon, Baro, and Boom. Seriously I saw their faces in all the members' faces. XD (except Boom. that was the wig and glasses)
The song was surprisingly catchy, but that nappy wig with the doorag has me side-eyeing them.
i was thinking it looks more middle eastern than indian but then again it also isn't obv geographically/culturally correct so they might've just taken anything that they thought looked "ethnic" and put it on the set.
