Probably because Kris is fluent in English and Tao is not. They also have two different voices that might not fit some songs, maybe.

not really on this particular song, I mean performances like the ones in SMtown (Like a G6 with Key & Amber). Obviously Kris is being shoved out more... but I feel like since Tao raps so much better and he hasn't get his own performance yet, it's kinda waste of talent lol.

Like a G6 is an English song too, though. Kris is being featured in only English speaking songs. I feel he's being shoved out more because of his look and his English ability. Though in future performances, Tao might get his shot if the song is English if he knows it better. SM markets the members in different ways. Tao right now is on his martial arts abilities. During KCON, he spoke pretty good English even though he forgot a few words, lol. He might be a good English learner like Kyungsoo in the song he was in with TTS, who knows.
