f(x)‘s Luna received her first win on October 6th’s ‘Immortal Song 2‘!

Luna’s intense performance of Magma‘s “I Can’t Know” won over the crowd. She especially impressed the audience with her sampling of Michael Jackson‘s “Beat It“. Her decision to go with the Michael Jackson hit was appropriate as she continued on to beat Cha Ji Yeon, Phantom‘s Sanchez, and Noel, who performed last, ultimately taking first place with 399 points.

As she held onto her trophy, she confessed, “I guess this is why people tell me to win. I was burdened performing alone without my members.”

Check out Luna's winning moment below~!

I thought the performance was okay vocally. Personally I see that she has some strength in her voice and she has some dynamic but overall vocally she's pretty boring.

I also see why she done musicals or would be good for them. She has a good group dynamic. But vocally she's a little on the shorter end side and needs the back up dancers/singers to emphasize her vocals. She's nasally a lot through out this performance which is frustrating because I think she has decent amount of talent and you can't see it over her nasal tone or her seemingly empty note ends.

(and was it her who cried when Charice sang against her?)

That's some serious low blow there. Ah, Korean standards are always questionable tbh.

I can see she's proud of her voice, it shows when she performs but she should definitely be aware of her limitations. I think that's her biggest fault? If you can't see what you don't have, then you can't emphasize on what you do. Luna is a good singer but she should know how to make herself be better.

yaay luna

not her best performance imo, though. her debut performance on the show was her best. even so, people criticized her for not displaying enough emotion throughout the song. maybe because her voice is so naturally loud and clear, most of the time she sings effortlessly and that makes her performances always sound so lacking in emotion. or maybe she just doesn't have "it" in her voice and will always sound soulless. I wish she would perform more demanding ballads like the one she did in her first episode instead of doing musical-like acts, because those always sound the same and just show how loud she can get, which we already know.

Her and G.O are both good singers but I don't really enjoy their Immortal Song performances. It's like they're just singing the song and not feeling it?

Sanchez and Gina's performance was really nice though. Are they dating? If they're not they should be.

she was ok... by that title i expected her to be insanely great but it wasnt anything special. but i've always believed shes only alright though like compared to other idols who cant sing for shit shes good but put against better veteran singers from korea she doesnt come close imo.

Luna has a really awesome idol voice, but idol voices aren't really suited to songs like this. Her voice is clear and girly, and think this would have benefited from a low, alto voice. Sadly, there are none of those in idol world except for, like, Jea and that one girl in She'z. And maybe that one girl in Rania.

This is a really weak performance from her. She's done much better by playing to her strengths. This song kind of brings out her weaknesses.

Luna is such a performer. Even though I love her voice when she sings pretty ballads, it's musical performances like these that really suit her. She's a dancer, a great one, and has such a lively stage personality, ballads are kind wasted on her tbh. She sounded amazing, I generally like her voice and this is no exception. I really hope she gets another musical soon because Luna dancing and singing is the best combination.
