Through the stalker Macau fans, it's been revealed that B1A4 were in Macau this week to film a parody of Boys Over Flowers. Badeul shippers take note: Sandeul was playing Jandi and Baro Junpyo. Jinyoung played Jihoo, and Channie and CNU the lesser important F4 members.

Why they are doing this, and what it may be for.... we have no idea. But I can't wait to see it. This is going to be hilarious, I know it already. Fan reports also mention a Jindeul kiss, with lots of NGs, so they had to do a lot of takes. Lmao.

Then you should be offended by every single boy group that has cross dressed ever.

This isn't meant to make fun of trans gender people. It's just comedic acting. It happens all the time. I'm not downplaying struggles of transgender people at all, but, maybe you shouldn't take it so seriously? Guys have been dressing as girls for acting purposes for hundreds of years. Are you also offended by hollywood movies or kdramas that have girls dressing as guys, or just the guys as girls?

I too sometimes have an issue with boy groups cross-dressing, because sometimes I think it pushes the idea that girl groups can't be taken seriously. For example, when a boy group dresses up like a girl group to dance to their song, it's hilarious, but when it's reversed (which rarely happens as it is) it's not a big joke.

However, I don't see where it's offensive to trans people??? I am a cisgender person so perhaps I am missing something. Boys over Flowers is a drama in which one of the main characters is a schoolgirl. If B1A4 are parodying the characters, including the female ones, doesn't it make sense for them to cross-dress? Otherwise how are male actors supposed to parody female characters without it being offensive to trans people?

I personally don't find it offensive.. But then again I am a ftm and not a trans woman so I can't speak to your experience.

The only way I would be offended if they went out of their way to portray a trans person and did it for laughs. Most of these parodies are done just for their shipping fanservice.

um its a drag performance. wearing drag isnt an affront to trans people. men and women have been wearing drag both onstage and off for centuries. not all of them were trans. You're not the first person to say something like this and I honestly dont get it. If they were making fun of an actual trans person that would be different. or making fun of a guy who's wearing girl's clothes because he likes it/offstage. that would also be wrong. but wearing a girl's uniform in order to parody a popular manga/drama is just not anything to do with making fun of trans women. I mean the joke is not that sandeul is dressed as a girl, the entire parody is the joke. someone has to play the girl's role, and its a boy group. so ergo someone has to dress as a woman. I mean is Kabuki also offensive? since plenty of straight cis men play women's roles. what about back when shakespeare's plays could only performed by men including the ladies parts? what about when guys dress up as women and do girl's group dances, and do the dances well and sing the parts well and look really pretty? is it still offensive? Like drag is not something that only trans people own or can do. Even alot of professional drag queens, while many of them may be gender queer or gay they dont always identify as women during the day or dress as one. since alot of drag queens routines involves comedy and exaggeration. are they too being offensive to trans women? I just disagree with this completely.
