The first thing children do with things in their hands is to put it in their mouths. For B1A4’s Jin Young, that item happened to be a giant nail.
Currently fathers on KBS Joy’s B1A4’s Hello Baby, the B1A4 members were educated on the dangers of children in terms of traffic, food, and strangers.
During the lessons, Jin Young openly shared a time in his life when he barely escaped death when he put a large nail into his mouth, shocking the other members.
He added that the nail was on the verge of passing through his throat, when his mother caught him and pulled the nail out in time to prevent any permanent damage from happening.
Due to his personal trauma, Jin Young stressed the importance of keeping specific items out of children’s reach and teaching children what kind of things they can and cannot eat.
The episode will air on September 14.

What are some of your traumatic childhood memories? I've broken my teeth, tore a lip and almost drowned T_T

Date: 2012-09-14 06:01 pm (UTC)As for me, twice I almost drowned, one where I nearly got swept away at beach when I was about 4-5 years old. I'm glad my aunt saved me. I was too young to ever remember this, but I did fall onto the coffee table and the corner of my right eye caught the corners requiring a few stitches. Then let's say my parents made the foolish decision of placing a metal flower vase on top of the fridge as I was opening the fridge the vase fell on my foot, leaving a nasty cut & scar I've had since I was 7. Thankfully it didn't land on my head. Stuck a piece of pebble in my ear & it was stuck so my dad had to take it out. Other than headphones I'm scared to stick anything in my ear. Lastly in the 2nd grade I burned my hand while I was playing with the glue gun.

Date: 2012-09-14 06:16 pm (UTC)It's the reason why I don't like water now.
I was forced to drink over and over to get the glue out of my system.

Date: 2012-09-14 07:46 pm (UTC)For me, I've been way too close to drown several times since I was little(I'm clumsy -_-)
but the one incident I remember the most is when I was about 10 y.o.
I had been playing with a few "friends" that chased me out on a frozen pond when the ice suddenly broke under me and I couldn't get up again because the ice was too thin.
I wore so much clothes and heavy boots that kept pulling me to the bottom.
Luckily I was fairly close to land and forced myself to stay calm, even when I started getting fuzzy.
I have no idea how, but I managed to get myself up on land after I got really mad and told myself that I had to get out of there no matter what.
It felt like I spent hours in that cold water but it was probably over in a matter of minutes, even so, I will never forget how I called for help and those so called friends I had stood back and laughed at me, LAUGHED.
Such good friends I had. Yeah. I think that was one of the last times I saw them.
It's been twelve years but I'm still really edgy around water -_-

Date: 2012-09-14 08:20 pm (UTC)To this date (23) I still can't ride a bike. I tried twice with 2 different bikes, both without brakes (why do I do that?). First time crushed against a garage door trying to avoid a friend coming towards me on her roller blades. Second time I was feeling confident and tried riding with just one hand, lost balance and crashed against a car, and the handlebar embedded on my pelvis.
Playing with my roller blades, a kid pranked me by putting them at the top of the basket where people were playing basketball in the park. There were these bars on the side where you could actually get to the top, so I tried climbing the bars to get thems back, but I slipped and fell down the basket, face first.
And apart from numerous car accidents, that's it.
blood/gross stuff warning neenaw
Date: 2012-09-14 10:33 pm (UTC)when i was younger i managed to break my arm, and at one point cracked my head open twice in one week at age four (first time i was hit by someone else until bleeding and whatnot, second time was pure stubbornness because i wanted to get on dad's bike, climbed onto a toolbox, fell back onto the wheelbarrow)
ngl i was actually terrified of breaking my arm/cracking my head today in acting class - WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO PUT FOUR PEOPLE ON THREE CHAIRS AND MOVE THEM ACROSS THE FLOOR WITHOUT FALLING OFF/DYING

Date: 2012-09-15 01:26 am (UTC)(I love all the stories in this post! I'm glad I wasn't the only accident-prone child)
Nothing as immediately deadly as swallowing a nail, though. o.0 Jinyoung your beautiful delicate throat! I'm glad he uses it to take better care of the kids though.
All of B1A4 are doing really well with the kids. Its super adorable. ;__;

Date: 2012-09-15 07:29 am (UTC)Almost drowned at the age of 4 (I can still remember the feeling. I have been leery of water since then.) My cousin tried to teach me to swim when I was 9, took me to the middle of the pond where there was a deep hole/pit in the bottom, dropped there and left saying I should learn to swim or sink. I still can't swim even with a private pool and living in the hell-on-earth-during -the-summer state called Arizona. Fell when I was 8 and cut my forehead on the head of a nail protruding from a door. When I was 6, got hit by a bus and all my front teeth fell out (luckily they were baby teeth). Got the head of a wire hanger stuck inside my eyelid. Had furniture someone had put up on a table tip over and hit me on the head resulting in the biggest bump ever. Too many other accidents to remember.

Date: 2012-09-15 12:48 pm (UTC)This isn't really traumatic because I have no memory of it but...
Apparently, I fell off a table when I was 3/4 because I was a happy little kid who loved to dance, and at the time I was copying an aerobics routine aired on TV. I busted my lip and I still have the scars from the stitches to prove it. If you wonder why I was even on the table in the first place, my Dad placed me there because he was laughing at my dancing and then 1, 2, step, BOOM! I fell. Lawl. Just a majorly bad case of bad balance and wrong timing. When I have childhood photos where I look really sad, they must have been taken a few weeks after my accident. I weirdly looked cute with the stitches, just really sad in a puppy-eyed kind of way. Ugh where has all the cute gone~ HAHAHAHA

Date: 2012-09-15 05:33 pm (UTC)I swallowed a quarter when I was little and it got stuck in my throat. I had to be taken to hospital and they stuck a long tube down my throat and got it. My grandma still has it. It's all black from my stomach acid.
When I was little my ma enrolled me in swimming lessons. I was probably 6 or 7? Idr. All I know is that the shallow end of the pool was still way too deep for me. Well all us kids who were in the class were sitting on the edge listening to the instructors talk. The girl sitting next to me pushed me in. Luckily I got myself out. I still don't know how to swim and I have a major fear of drowning.
