Super Junior‘s Leeteuk revealed his thoughts on who will become his successor as Super Junior’s leader after his enlistment.

On the September 12th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, Super Junior members Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Siwon, and Shindong appeared as guests.

During filming, Eunhyuk mentioned that the leader position would soon be vacant after Leeteuk enters his military service. Eunhyuk stated, "According to the order, I’m after Leeteuk," and discussed the commitments he would carry out when becoming leader.

Leeteuk also discussed his sacrifices as leader for his members as well as the members he would like to enlist with.

Check out this episode of ‘Radio Star’ on September 12th at 11:15PM KST.

it's like they had no one qualified enough to be leader, so they just pulled names from a hat, and he was the lucky one.

I really was not expecting Temporary Leader to be Eunhyuk. I thought Kangin would do it.

...oh.

I mean, it makes sense. He's the most visible member that would actually be around (unlike Siwon) and Yesung, Shindong, and Sungmin will be hauling off not too soon after Teuk. Maybe when Heenim comes back he'll take the reigns. Either way this goes though, Super Junior isn't the same once mass enlistment starts. /shrug

I'd much rather him than Siwon anyways!

tbh, I guessed this. It was either Hyuk or Kangin, but Kangin has been gone for too long.

I mean...the others just wouldn't be able to hack it. lol.

I honestly think Hyuk will step it up, and be a great leader, so I'm not worried. I always thought he'd be the one anyway.

Meh.

Anyone know what the hell Siwon was tweeting about, how he was missing NYC? Are Suju in NYC?

Not surprised. I had a feeling Teuk has been subtly showing the leadership ropes to Eunhyuk for awhile. Like everyone else in here, however, Kangin would have made better sense...if things were different.

I already knew it. Eunhyuk and Leeteuk have been very close throughout the years - it's not unbelievable that he would teach him some leadership skills. No one else is qualified enough to lead the group in my opinion. Eunhyuk has a good presence in the industry, he's outspoken enough, he's respected within the group (no matter how much they tease him)...Kangin wouldn't be able to do all this.

I agree with this! I love Kangin to little bear-shaped pieces but I'm not surprised that Eunhyuk would get the temporary leader position and I think it's a good move.

Not surprised. If Kangin had come back sooner maybe him but Hyukkie seems to be the better option.

He is the best choice tbh. He has a presence in the entertainment industry and is always alongside Leeteuk whenever they do variety or other activities. I think he'll do a good job if he really does become the temporary leader.

I think if Kangin hadn't left for the army, he'd most likely be the next leader, but because he just came back they went for the next best choice.

If it's true, I'm not surprised. Out of everyone in the group, Eunhyuk's the one who's worked with Leeteuk the most. And yeah, Eunhyuk's now very popular with the variety show/music show circuit, as well as the public.

okay, but they've said multiple times no one would be "leader" after he enlists. leeteuk just picked eunhyuk as the member he thought could fulfill the role properly.

They weren't even serious about it during the interview. Hyuk was just basically campaigning for himself. That he wanted the leader position. Im sure it was just a joke.

Leeteuk did say that hyun would make a good leader cause he's calm and organized. Then the others agreed about him being very put together, so then hyuk jokes about how removing kyuhyun from his radiostar position was among his priorities once he's the leader.

It should obviously be Kyuhyun, wtf.

+1 That was my first thought too--I mean, I like Eunhyuk and it's true that Eunhyuk is popular, one of the most in that aspect, but I just don't see him being leader unless the image he always shows is that different from who he really is irl.

eunhyuk can keep the little leadership position for whatever is left of this year and the early part of next year...cuz next year the dictator will be in charge.

I also think they're probably joking. Although Eunhyuk wouldn't necessarily become the leader, he would no doubt be the spokesperson. The I AM movie press conference which Teuk didn't attend was like a preview of what's to come... Hyuk did the group introductions then.

I'm actually hoping Yesung might step up a bit more, though, since he'd be the eldest (although that also means he's the next to go). I also thought Teuk was rather symbolically handing the reins to Yesung by letting him receive music show trophies during SFS promotions. But then again I probably read too much into things.

I don't they are gonna have a leader... Leeteuk said if he would have to pick someone it would be Eunhyuk and everybody else agreed but still I think they'll remind leader-less 'til he comes back, however eunhyuk would be a good choice.
