CL, Bom & Dara are all fluent in English, but yes, CL is the only one comfortable enough to talk. Although I feel like - as she is the leader of the group - she will answer all questions, unless the interviewer talks directly to another member.

She isn't the only one, but Dara and Bom don't really speak English much in interviews even though they can speak English. At least from instances from 2NE1TV, Bom can speak fine when the others aren't around, but for some reason when it comes to interviews they rest don't speak up. People keep saying these interviews are CL featuring the rest, but if no one else is going to talk what is she supposed to do?

Why are they always so awkward in American interviews lol Language barrier aside, CL was really creeping me out by the end of the clip.

Also, is it just me or is Bom /really/ showing her age lately? She's seems too tired to even keep her eyes open, let alone speak. ILY perfs and these interviews, she's barely even there.

I read their Seoulbeat interview and a bit puzzled regarding one of the guys' statement:

'especially 2NE1, musically it’s way way ahead of anything else in the [pop] genre anywhere in the world.'

The usage of English made 2NE1 more advanced musically? J-Pop & K-Pop has been using English in their songs for the longest time so I don't understand what he means tbh. Someone care to explain? :3

Why bother sending the whole group to interviews when CL's doing all the work? The imbalance is casting CL in bad light and crazies will lose it if she's the focus of next single/comeback. They need media training ASAP, not doing variety is biting them in the ass. This isn't Korea where they're already famous and everyone knows what they're all about.

This is getting ridiculous, 2NE1 are not a new group. YG should have sorted out this imbalance by now, it's fair enough that the other girls are shy or unconfident in English but they can't keep letting CL speak =____='

I think somebody from YG should have a talk with these girls, tbh. If they're trying to advance into the US market as a group, it can't just be a one man show in interviews. CL did great and definitely minimized the awkwardness, but come on.. It's kind of funny that Minzy, who apparently has the lowest English skills (?), was the only one showing any reaction to CL's words. One way to get everyone engaged would be to ask for the questions in advance, so that they all get the chance to prepare some answers and practice their speech if needed. Also, media training.

I wish they were as animated in their interviews (even Korean ones) as they are in their music videos and live performances.

as a 2ne1 fan i would love to see them all speak except maybe minzy because she doesn't seem to know english well enough but if dara and bom did speak i can see a lot of ppl jumping down their throats about how they need to perfect their english before they come to america like ppl have said about WG so it's a lose-lose situation. if they know english well enough then maybe they've read up on WG's criticism over their english and are scared.

i know that i wouldn't be one of those people saying they need to perfect it because they speak it fine. i mean they already know english and not had to learn it like the wonder girls.

though, i would be surprised if people said that considering that the US had all kinds of accents.

i can understand having one person to talk if no one else talks, but maybe they need to go on more english interviews for them to talk more.

Jiiiiiiiiiiimmmm/ Jaaaaaames!!!! whatever your name is honey I need you to not look like that when interviewing these k- idols... I got "cabin by the lake" vibes from him. I know they had to be creeped out. Dara was definitely staring at the back of minji's head the whole time, forcing her eyeballs to stay open. You could cut the weird air in that room.
I need to know who put CL on to ASAP rocky TBH, I just hope she's getting some Azealia in that mix too.
Ever since the acoustic sessions Bommie has been looking like she's on her way out/ dull/ bored... almost like she needs a new page turned in her world.
