[TV Report]On the KBS2 Morning Live episode with Ji & Choi that aired Thursday, actress No Hyeon-hee came clean regarding rumors about her plastic surgery.
MC Ji Seok-jin first mentioned the abundance of online postings critical of her post-surgery appearance and she agreed.
She said, "I had double eyelid surgery. I was performing on stage, appearing on TV and I wanted to have big eyes like the others. I guess I went a little overboard. The surgery left a clear mark on the eyes so I did it again to undo it. I did three surgeries for the double eyelids alone."
She continued, "It's true that since the eye work, I lost my innocent, girly image." But she said she has pursued roles and adjusted her acting to fit the image of her new looks.
She said that she realized the importance of inner beauty and that her trials gave her wisdom. She added, "As actresses get older, they want to remain young and pretty. Who likes wrinkles? But now I want to accept the aging and have more experience and wisdom."
No divorced her husband of six years, achor Sin Dong-jin.

Date: 2009-07-07 04:40 am (UTC)I know some people who had to get the eyelid surgery RE-DONE because they probably went to crappy, cheap Asian plastic surgeons. The excuse they're given is that "the eye doesn't stay still and shifts a lot" and all this junk. Yeah I dunno. And idgi when older Asian people say to younger Asian folk, "You have double eyelids, that's good. You saved your parents couple hundred dollars." ...Um, double eyelids =/= bigger, more beautiful eyes
Anybody else who can tell when people (specifically celebs) have gotten their eyes done?

Context is everything.

Date: 2009-07-07 04:53 am (UTC)i'm not asian, but when i hear of people getting the asian eyelid surgery thing, it makes me really sad.:(
IMO, the mono crease eyelid found in asian ethnicity, to me, is absolutely gorgeous and unique, there's nothing else like it. why would you want to get rid of that?
