Siwon's father loses his damn mind in anti-Japan tirade

The father of Super Junior's Siwon, Kiho Choi, recently made some unsavory comments on his Twitter against Japan. The tweets in question claim that Jesus Christ was the only savior during Japan's colonization and that Korea was chosen by God himself over Japan.

He continued by saying, "Think Japan, God gave an opportunity to receive Good news & modern civilization but they got civilization only and became strong country." He also extolled Korea's virtues (no doubt bestowed by Christ himself), "In economic,science,industry,arts,sports and religion Korea becomes top in the world."







The incident comes after Choi made a controversial statement on his Twitter in May in which he criticized gay marriage and Barack Obama's stance on the issue.

How can you become top in the World in Religion? Anyway the Korean sentiment against Japan isn't something I have the right to really speak on but this guy is far too old to be acting like some immature brat.

As for gay marriage, I hope his son marries Hangeng. You'd think that when he harps on about Jesus and Japan he wouldn't try to act instead like an ignorant, closed minded bigot who thinks he has the right to criticise someone who's trying to stop opression towards gay people.

Not everyone is Korea is a Jesus fan. Some people in Japan are. If top education had been added in there, then he wouldn't have generalized an entire countries.

Even as a Christian, I cannot tolerate people who discriminate sexualities, other than heterosexuality, in the name of God. Do not use God's name in vain, hello commandment #3?

Something my friend left for me when I was contemplating about homosexuality and Christianity:

"the condition of being homosexual, i.e. being sexually attracted to people of the same gender, is not wrong any more than any of our natural urges or temptations are wrong. it's the act of homosexual sex itself that God abhors (lev 18:22), because He created sex to be between a male and female (gen 2:24). there's a lot of discourse about how marriage is a one-ness in mind, soul and body in a way that two men/two women can never achieve which each other. in fact, it is a result of the increasing sin of mankind that there is an increased acceptance of homosexual sex today (romans 1:26-27 but read the whole section).

at the same time, homosexuals are marginalised in our society because people view them as "unnatural" or "deviant". but one must remember that homosexuals are people like us, and those who engage in homosexual sex are sinners just like us. read romans 1-2; the part where paul stops talking about the wrath of God and he goes on to say "therefore YOU have no excuse to pass judgement on somebody else" is pretty cool.

You know what, Siwon's dad, and all like-minded people? Think about who Jesus rolled with during his time. Your type of thinking is exactly what Jesus tried to change.

Every time this happens I remind myself that I am not alone, not everyone feels this way, and I just remember that time a Christian said sorry during a Pride Parade. It's a really beautiful moment.
