So for everyone who like me didn't understand which character was which in the casting news, I've made a handy guide with the help of some guides made by people who have a longer attention span than me. To the Beautiful You's airing date has been pushed back to the 15th because Ghost's airing was preempted by the Olympics, so while you're waiting, check this out^^
Choi Minho as Kang Taejoon (Sano Izumi)
Lee Hyun Woo as Cha Eun-gyeol (Nakatsu Shuichi)
Kim Jiwon as Seol Ha-na (Yamashina Rina)
(pretty much just a guess, but this is the only character the drama character description fits. she appears for a very short time at the beginning of the manga. they may have just made a character for her though.)
Ki Tae-young as Jang Min-woo (Dr. Umeda)
(Ki Tae-young is the husband of Eugene of S.E.S.)
Seo Jun young as Ha Seung-ri (Nanba Minami) *DORM 2 LEADER
Hwang Kwang-hee as Song Jong-min (Nakao)
(yeah I don't really get this one at all. of all the idols you could get to act as a feminine-looking guy...)
Yoo Min Kyu as Young-mahn (Megumi Tennoji) *DORM 1 LEADER
Kim Ee An/Kim Ian as Na Chul Soo (Oscar M. Himejima) *DORM 3 LEADER
(an actor under SM Ent, he's been in a couple musicals before)
Kang Ha-neul as Joo Ji-cheol (Makoto Kagurazaka)
Ahn Hye-kyung as Yang Seo-yoon (Akiha Hara)
(...yeah apparently they turned the gay guy into a girl. idk what to say)
Julien Kang as Daniel (Mizuki’s half-brother from America)

And now for some apparently drama-original characters? (I might be wrong it's been a long time since I've read the manga)

Kang will play athletic coach Byun Kwang-min, who’s not so brainy (“simple and uneducated”) but rates strong on the brawny meter. He’s a former high jumper and he’s known for being tough on his students, making him an antagonistic presence to the kids. But he turns into a softy whenever he’s around love interest and fellow language teacher Lee Young-eun (Marriage Plot). Which makes me think of the sidekicks in Big — or, you know, any of the High Kicks, which may be more apropos given this writer’s resumé.
