So far I liked it a lot. BUT how is that a feature, Dok2!? He does a half ass intro and gets a feature title wtf? --- Really good, I can do without LV and Stereo. Vocals are nice.
lol i got caught off guard cuz one of the girls looked like cl. the bad ass concept doesn't fit them well for this song.
*NOTE: D-UNIT’s title track, “I’M MISSIN’ YOU” for their 1st Album ‘Welcome To Business’, was originally made for BIGBANG and is produced by DM (YMGA) & Kush. Once the demo came out they realized the style of the song would suit D-UNIT more than BIGBANG. The lyrics were then revised accordingly.// D-UNIT is a girl group under D-BUSINESS run by DM (former YMGA member & YG Family Artist) // Member U-Jin is a former YG Trainee.

i have been saying this the whole time lol. the reason they kind of sound like bb or 2ne1 is because a lot of yg people are involve with this group.
I'm Missin' You uses one of what I like to call the magic chord progressions that make me like the song no matter what. Because of the chorus alone I have to like this song.
Not very original. I was expecting them to sound different, like a bit tougher and more hip hop? But this is such generic kpop fare...
Not that the album is bad or anything, Crush and Turn The Lights On are definitely (late) summer jam material. But why debut a whole new group with songs that might as well have been sung/performed by an existing group? (And they can't even use their 'but we have Boram's sister' card to get attention at the moment, so ironic...)
That said, I'm kinda looking forward to their music show performances. Their title track itself might not be really going anywhere sound-wise but at least the choreo seems really strong, maybe they'll be able to make more of an impact live.
IA with your first statement. I can't tell whether it's because their vocals don't match the beats or something else. Which is kinda sad because I do like their songs yet they're missing an important factor.
from the teasers i had such high hope for Missin' You but what a let down tbh. their vocals are nothing special and if anything i found a lot of their voices annoying.
i'll have to listen to the rest of the album later but the title track didn't impress me.
putting my stanning aside i cant help but feel like some of these songs were created for big bang and 2ne1 not really for d-unit. i love the album and i think they are flawless but its unfair for them tbh. i still think they are by far the best group to debut atm though and im sure they will be really successful.
also the whole omg they are 2ne1 copy cat comments are dumb. what did you expect when DM and Kush produced the songs?? they are very heavily yg influenced because yg people created this group. it makes me wonder how people are going to react when the new girl group debuts tbh.
I think the copycat comments were because of the wardrobe in the MV. Intentional or not, that one girl was styled way too blatantly like CL, but I blame the stylists for that.
I like it, and yay, they can dance! By which I mean they put some emphasis into rather than looking like they're exercising in the living room. With frequent breaks for water.
The MV was kinda boring, one of the girls was styled to look way too much like CL, and I think they autotuned too much their vocals, however, I like instrumentals of the song (then again I guess that was expected since I'm a YG stan). I'm looking forward what this group will do in the future though.
tbh I was kinda iffy when I first listened to this album but throughout the day and after I slept a little it really grew on me. Wooram is obviously a very gifted songwriter. I didn't really expect them to sound very hip hop but I've been following them for a while now. They're very oriented in r&b and I think their fashion reflects that of a hype beast not necessarily attached to a narrow genre. I think they played to their strengths and interests musically and although they don't have the typical r&b vocal like Bom or Hwayobi, who's to say they shouldn't try? There's room for all types of voices and I like the variety they bring. I can tell they and the others who worked on this album put in a lot of effort and it shows in the quality of the output apart from the really unnecessary breakdown in "Stereo". It's what I didn't realize I wanted, the vaguely YG/r&b girl group sound I forgot I had missed. I'll be spinning this for a while. I've already got "Anniverary" on repeat.
