Seems like YG is trying to save as much production costs as possible by making the MV the exact same as the Korean. Probably just shot the Japanese version while they were at it. Not surprising that they would do that though, because 2NE1 hasn't been doing so well in Japan. At least, as much that is expected of them, since they're Korea's second largest girl group at the moment.

I'm pretty sure they did shoot the J-ver and K-ver of the MV at the same time. It's probably why the lip-sync in the movie is so incredibly bad - because the through in so many dual purpose j/k-ver scenes. :( If they were gonna repeat the same video the least they could have done was get the lip sync right - at least once.

Their Japanese is really no worse than any other Kpop bands that are releasing Japanese songs. Also, that rap that Dara does wouldn't work in Japanese even if a Japanese person did it. Minzy's pronunciation is actually pretty good.

All I've heard is Minji is fluent in Japanese, so... CL would be like "second best" in Japanese since she lived there, but I dunno, lol. Probably better than Dara a little though. :P

True, Minzy are CL are the best with pronunciation and stuff but it's not just that. There are just some songs that just don't work in Japanese no matter what. Japanese is flat, Korean isn't. There's really nothing they can do about the song sounding strange, it's just the way it's written.

True, they're definitely not much worse than the average Japanese Kpop song remake. You always seem to have one member in each group with an atrocious pronunciation and the rest are at least understandable. In 2NE1 it's Dara who stands out the most, in a negative way. And you're right, Dara's rap doesn't flow well in Korean to begin with and not even a native speaker could have made it work in Japanese.

nah. It varies from whatever line they get. But usually it's either Dara and Bom that sounds really bad in japanese. In their first Japanese MV, can't nobody...I couldn't understand what Bom was saying. I thought she was speaking Chinese. In this one, it's Dara that sounds like she's speaking an alien language.

But people in general all have their individual (in)abilities of speaking foreign languages, like some have stronger accents than others. In this case, Dara's Japanese is really a lot worse than the other girls' abilities, which doesn't mean that Bom or CL or even Minzy sound flawless. (Bom's Japanese never has sounded good to me, not even here, so it's not like she's improved or that it depends on the lines they get.)
