Lee Donghae as Go Seungji
Due to a sudden, ill-fated accident caused by his father, Choi Jaegyung, Seungji's mother goes to jail in place of his father, in order to protect their bakery and livelihood. 6 year old Seungji grew up without knowing about the truth or the situation. He grew up without a single picture of his parents and does not currently remember his parents. After going from orphanage to rehab and finally, to jail; Park ByungMoo takes him in as a patissier. Seungji sets a goal for himself: to become Saint Honore. Thanks to Park Byungmoo, he has recovered to the point where he can live normally, still fears abandonment. He has a prickly attitude and temper, which leads him to punch people easily. He has dated before but never loved before. In front of his first love, Panda, he is just a small porcupine.

Actress Yoon Seung Ah and Super Junior‘s Donghae shared their impressions on their first roles asdrama protagonists.
At the press conference for Channel A‘s ‘Miss Panda and Porcupine‘ on the 18th, Yoon Seung Ah commented, “Because it’s my first lead role, I was really worried and nervous initially, but now I’ve adjusted and am having a good time filming.”
She went on, “As it’s a romantic comedy, I think viewers will have fun watching the [adorable, harmonious love story and plot].” Yoon Seung Ah stars as the owner of a failing cake shop called “Cafe Panda”.
Donghae shared, “As it’s my first time playing a protagonist in Korea, I felt pressure in the beginning. Pressure is one thing, but I’m also having fun and working hard to learn as well as to show viewers a fresh romantic comedy.” The Super Junior member plays the role of a cold, genius pastry chef.
The first episode of ‘Miss Panda and Porcupine’ will air on August 18 KST.

As well, teaser photos for the main cast has been released by the drama’s promoter Y Tree Media, with the lead actor and actress Donghae and Yoon Seung-a donning patissier and waitress uniforms.
As their outfits infer, Donghae is set to play a patissier named Go Seung-ji, while Yoon portrays Miss Panda, the owner of a baker with zero revenue.
Meanwhile, actor Choi Jin-hyuk has joined the cast to play a rich man that forms a complicated relationship with the pair.
Having debuted as a singer, Donghae has already began building acting experiences through “It’s Okay Daddy’s Girl” and Taiwanese drama “Skip Beat!” with fellow Super Junior member Siwon.
His co-star, Yoon, debuted as an actress in 2005 through MBC’s sitcom “Rainbow Romance.” She has many credits in the films and TV series, while she has gained more public attention through MBC’s smashing-hit drama, “The Moon Embracing the Sun” earlier this year.

Date: 2012-07-18 07:41 pm (UTC)but i'm kinda new to kdrama. The only kdramas I've seen are It's Okay Daddy's Girl, Oh my Lady, and Secret garden. I somehow managed to get through the first two dramas, but i'm kinda stuck on EP11 for secret garden. It's boring me? Does it get better?
but i'm kinda curious about rooftop prince and coffee prince. I've heard good things about it. I need recommendations :/

Date: 2012-07-18 08:28 pm (UTC)I've watched both rooftop prince and coffee prince and I actually recommend you check both of them out, they're really good and Coffee prince is actually one of my favorite dramas :P
For recommendations.. Since I don't know what kind of dramas you're looking for (as in.. serious or lighthearted, drama or comedy and so on..) it's hard to just come with recommendations :P Some of my personal favorites are; Coffee Prince, K-pop Extreme Survival, Shut Up Flower Boy Band, The Moon That Embraces The Sun, Protect The Boss, City Hunter, Obstetrics and Gynecology Doctors/ OB-GYN, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Shining Inheritance and Spring Waltz.... wow, that was alot of them, sorry for that XD
I don't know what other people are intending to watch but I'm planning to continue to watch Big and to at least check the Hana Kimi remake out :P
