From June 28th through July 1st, fans flocked in from Japan as well as from various cities all over Korea to attend JYJ‘s ‘2012 JYJ Membership Week‘. As mentioned previously, this was a special event put on by C-JeS Entertainment for the fans who have JYJ membership, and became the first fan expo held in Korea. The event included a variety of events, including a fan meeting, a 3D Media Façade, Trick Art, and more.
Over 25,000 fans were expected in attendance, including 15,000 official Korean members, as well as 7,024 registered Japanese members. With the event having come to a close two weeks ago, JYJ has released a video highlighting some of the moments from the expo, so check it out below!

Date: 2012-07-14 06:10 pm (UTC)But they're from the same group, why wouldn't their fans be called Cassies? If anything the fans keep the color red, and call themselves Cassies (even if JYJ have never confirmed it, prob for legal reasons) for JYJ, I think JYJ would be thoroughly upset if we decided to call the fanclub ORION or some shit.

Date: 2012-07-14 06:32 pm (UTC)That they call themselves Cassies? Or the the fact that JYJ don't call their fans Cassies for legal reasons. (Mostly because of SM and AVEX stating that Cassiopeia and BigEast are only Homin fanclubs) But I would assume that they would call their fans that bts because that's what we've always been?

Date: 2012-07-14 06:42 pm (UTC)But then doesn't the red from our lights automatically represent Cassiopeia? Cause they were essentially one and the same? I don't get it. :/

Date: 2012-07-15 08:05 pm (UTC)That's why fans went crazy when EXO used red temporarily when they debuted. Red belongs to DBSK/JYJ!

Date: 2012-07-16 12:09 am (UTC)Of course Fin.K.L used red too but they're not active anymore for years, TVXQ is!
And as long as the band is active fans won't accept it... what would it look like if they had some kind of Dream Concert and 2-3 fandoms with the same color?
That's confusing. Labels said themselves that they have difficulties to find new colors for new bands..because almost all are already taken!
That's why they create special designed lightsticks just like Big bang have .. so fandoms won't fight over it.
Since JYJ are part of TVXQ (and Jaejoong said they don't want to be called ex-tvxq members because they still see themselves as part of the group) the fans still use red!

Date: 2012-07-16 12:35 am (UTC)Anyhow, what I am trying to say is even if Jaejoong does not want to be called an ex-TVXQ member, JYJ ultimately is not TVXQ. That's like claiming all JYJ fans are also TVXQ2/TVXQ5 fans, and all TVXQ2 fans are also JYJ fans. It does not work that way. Therefore, why should new/OT5-turned JYJ only fans call themselves Cassiopeia? If they're not the same group, they should not use the same name even if they're using the same color.

Date: 2012-07-16 04:45 am (UTC)You're right it doesn't make it obsolete, I'm sure if they came back Pinky's would use the same color as they did in the 90's.. but in this new generation where TVXQ is active everyone knows Cassiopeia is red.
If they retired and a new group debuted and used this color it wouldn't be that much of a problem^^ but in this case i'm confused. If JYJ only fans don't want to be called cassiopeia or be associated with it why do they continue using red? The color defines the fandom, we all know the concept.
As long as Cassiopeia is active fans will always think of TVXQ when seeing red...or think of suju when they see blue and so on..
If they don't want to be called Cassies they should stop "acting" as one.^^ If I see a red ocean i will assume it's cassiopeia.. not a mix of tvxq and jyj fans..

Date: 2012-07-16 05:26 am (UTC)There's no rule that another artist can not use the same color as a currently existing one (i.e. what happened with CSJH and SNSD and their pink ballons). And if another new group (other than JYJ) does happen to use red in the future before TXVQ2 retires, it would not make them Cassies. Telling others to "stop acting" like them is rather tactless.
Seriously, in a way, I do get where you're coming from, but to automatically pin people with red ballons as Cassies is rather unfair.

Date: 2012-07-16 06:07 am (UTC)My conclusion is JYJ-only fans use red as their color because the boys are accustomed to it. But JYJ-only fans do not consider themselves as Cassies because Cassiopeia is an official fanclub for TVXQ under SM, and JYJ is not TVXQ. These fans like JYJ as JYJ and not as TVXQ. Color does not make a fanclub... the fans do, and most important, who they are fans of.
JYJ-only fans would like a different identity.
OT5s who still supports both sides would not.
Pretty much sums it all up.

Date: 2012-07-14 11:58 pm (UTC)That is technically speaking. I'm sure most international OT5s consider Cassiopeia for all of the members.
As a JYJ only fan...I call myself a JYJ fan. Until we get a name, I'm sure that's all that we'll call ourselves. The members themselves haven't given us a name (they haven't used the term "cassiopeia" since the lawsuit even) and in all honesty, we don't really need a fanclub name anyways since it's not like we get to cheer them on during music shows or group concerts.
And as for red, it's always been their color. SM might own the fanclub and the name, but they can't own the color. I'm glad they're still using it because I'm sure they've come to see the color red as support for themselves.
Just because we use red doesn't automatically make us "Cassiopeia" just like us using any of their individual colors (green, blue, and pink) doesn't mean we only love that individual member. It's just the color light stick that JYJ picked and so we use it.

Date: 2012-07-14 11:13 pm (UTC)I was a DBSK fan before the split and a Cassie.
I'm a JYJ fan now and a Cassie.
Every other JYJ fan I know personally considers themselves Cassies still.
I didn't know anyone hated being associated with Cassiopeia. Strange.

Date: 2012-07-15 12:00 am (UTC)But I guess that's probably with JYJ-only fans.
I know JYJ biased OT5s still call themselves Cassies~

Date: 2012-07-14 06:57 pm (UTC)In any case, I've seen where members have their own fanclub while they're still active in their idol group. Doesn't seem like a stretch to me.

Date: 2012-07-15 01:41 am (UTC)This is all speculation based off of watching other older idol groups. HoMin may very well be like Kangta of H.O.T and stay loyal to SM forever. That's likely too. I just think there is a chance they may go down the other paths I mentioned just due to time and a change on life perspective.
If either of them want to get married and have a life, they'll have to give up the idol spotlight. You unfortunately can't have both. No members of Shinhwa are married, nor members of H.O.T/JTL. Only one member of G.O.D is married, and he long since gave up his idol status. You just stay too busy and have way too many
saesangseyes on you as an idol. And as long as HoMin stays with SM, they'll be idols.Long answer, my bad. TLDR; I think DBSK will unite if HoMin decides they want a life broader than than that of an idol, and once they reconcile hurt feelings with JYJ.

Date: 2012-07-17 05:21 am (UTC)They might be banned forever from music shows / Japan but it still didn't stop them from becoming what they wanted. They still singing, releasing albums and sell like hot cakes despite 0 promotions and still getting tons of CFs and richer than they have ever been before.
Personally, I think they are happier now after leaving SM. Separating from HoMin and being banned everywhere caused them heartache but they are happy which I think is the most important thing. So, I don't get what you mean by 'perseverance' -- its not like they're struggling to get recognition or anything.
I will be happy if you're willing to explain. :)

Date: 2012-07-17 11:15 pm (UTC)I have the same exact opinion about everything you said. That's what qualifies as perseverance to me. They don't NEED to do any of the things they are doing now. They don't need to release regular albums or work on dramas or musicals or go on World tours or donate to charity or host things like this membership week for free.
But they do.
Success and popularity have nothing to do with it in my opinion. They continue to work extremely hard and try new things when they don't have to. That's what I call perseverance. Does that make sense?

Date: 2012-07-19 11:44 pm (UTC)I know a lot of friends that used 2nd party websites like Celga to register for Japanese membership, but I think membership for Japanese fans is closed right now (I'm sure they'll have another membership drive soon, though)
Hopefully C-JeS will start working on membership for i-fans, but I think logistically it's a little hard to do that right now :(
