The site doesn't have much save for a group profile and a link to their Facebook. But I guess this is an official announcement of sorts. Should've had them debut in China tbh.

I was actually expecting a Chinese debut...I know they've had Victoria speaking Japanese but she already is FLUENT in Mandarin and has a tv show coming out there...so yeah

Plus Amber of course...that's two members who speak

that plan was killed with the hallyu boom in japan.

But...they already did interviews and shows in Taiwan. SuJu has a Mandarin subgroup and STILL hasn't officially debuted in Japan

but so did many groups who didn't really debut or properly promoted in china, they went there for a promotional circle not for a debut, i don't think that sm plans to send f(x) to chine/taiwan to promote for good, at least not right now.

Korea admits that Japan is actually much more promising..implicitly..

Yeah, since 80% of the profit from K-Pop comes solely from Japan. They can earn so much by staying 1 week at Japan than what they got by promoting all year at Korea. >.>

This is definitely true, but you would think what with China's booming economy and Japan's somewhat stalled one, it would be the opposite? Also, that hallyu bubble is going to pop eventually in Japan, might as well try elsewhere. But eh, I guess SM's going to milk it for all it's worth.

It's true China is a good market since the economy there is booming but people there did not buy physical cds and the piracy problem there are pretty chronic -- that is why even sm did not release the physical cd for EXO-M at China, they only release digital songs there. Plus, if they did sell the cd there, they will have to sell it cheaply -- not as expensive as the cd price in Japan. It's true that the hallyu wave at its peak right now and sm will milk whatever its worth but the reality is, even if an artist is flopping hard at Japan, they will still making some profit there. I think all they have to sell is around 15k of their cds in order to make a profit. Japanese people buy physical cd and consistently going to live shows -- that's why their music industry are so prosperous and the quality of their lives are better compared to other countries.

SM did not have the intention to make SNSD, SHINee, SuJu nor F(x) to last long in Japan. They just milking all the fame right now while it last. Where its different by the way the treat TVXQ -- that is because they wanted them to be there even after the wave is over.

She does look like a real live manga/anime character...which is why the Leader Line for f(x) and EXO started making sense to me because Kris does too

Shouldn't they focus on Korea?!? I would figure they would go to China like EXO-M so then they would have two groups in China and the rest in Japan/Korea

Having them in China makes technical sense bc of Vic and Amber, but their style is WAY more suited (WAY) for J-pop. And maybe even J-pop over K-pop. Japan will eat their schtick right up whereas they would do nothing for Chinese audiences, honestly. I just can't see their crazy frantic style working in China so while it may seem like a Chinese debut is the more obvious choice, I'll bet they'll earn way more money in Japan than they would in China.

That's true, their style is suited for jpop (and I have no idea what cpop is like, tbh), so this could work out for them.

lol I still think SM is stupid for throwing f(x) into Japan just when their popularity in Korea is finally starting to really pick up. Totally just take them away from rising to the top and throw them in along with a sea of nugus.

Isn't' it more logical to go to China instead? They have two Chinese members who can help teach the others but instead they have to learn a whole new language. o_o

This isn't the reality I wanted D=
I liked that they were one of the few major groups that hasn't gone there. Was hoping they'd keep it that way.
