It's interesting that there are only five dancers. I would think that if he was choreographing for six people there would be six dancers, but hey, what do I know about choreography.

The more I watch this, I really prefer choreographers dancing their own stuff over the actual performers. Not that people like Exo are bad dancers but I think they focus too much on image of themselves rather than the image of the dance. If that makes sense? While choreographers focus on the way the dance expresses outwards or visually.

Though, I do think this is one of the times where the choreo doesn't change when given to the group. It loses its dynamic on stage yes, but it gains something when Exo performs it. Which I think is a nice twist.

I also think he must have been not too happy to go from five to six members. It was either really really easy to add one more or a ridiculous amount of reformatting.

idk when this was made but i think this reinforces the idea that exo was put 2gether last minute because the early choreo was done by dancers and not the members during their pre-debut and even then there is only 5 guys here.

?? of course the earliest choreo would be done by the dancers who choreographed it? so that the exo members could learn it? there should be footage of the exo members predebut practising it, too, only it hasn't been released. there are 5 guys because there were 5 choreographers.

edit: lol what am i talking about. i mixed it up with the mama predebut practice footage, which hasn't been released in its entirety. the history practice videos were released forever ago, my bad lmao.

How I love the "History" choreography! One of my fave choreographies ever, really. Comparing to the version with the boys, the boys do a pretty good job of it. It helps that there are 2 excellent dancers in K and 4 in M. Hell, D.O.'s impressive in dancing, too, even when his main job in a performance is to sing he bulk of the song.

Well, exo's problem (really exo-k's problem, but -m has the same formations anyway) is that 6-person formations are awkward when Kaisomeone is always front and center.

Like, they could do something like this instead:

  2   5
   34

But then, you know.... XD

(Shitkingz is 4 ppl, but they don't cover each other up in their even-number formations!)

After watching this I gotta say I think EXO really do the original choreo justice. They did a good job of catching a lot of the dynamics, I'm impressed.
