Joo Ji Hoon confirmed for SBS New drama "Five Fingers"

Joo Ji Hoon has been confirmed for the upcoming SBS drama, “Five Fingers,” which marks his comeback to the small screen.

“Five Fingers” is to follow the currently airing “A Gentleman’s Dignity,” and is being produced and written by a star team of directors and writers.

“Five Fingers” is the story about how some troubled young adults overcome their past scars and make efforts to find their dreams and love. Joo Ji Hoon will play a talented pianist, who struggles with an unfortunate family situation.

Due to Joo Ji Hoon’s past drug scandals, some viewed this casting unfavorably. However, the head director, Choi Young Hoon PD stated, “Joo Ji Hoon’s drama character has both good and evil in him and we thought Joo Ji Hoon’s soft but tough-guy charms were perfect for this role.”

Choi PD continued, “Since his role is a pianist, we needed someone with acting skills, as well as a basic knowledge and appreciation for music. Joo Ji Hoon plays piano, guitar and other instruments and is known to be a good singer so we are very excited.”

Joo Ji Hoon’s agency, Key East Entertainment stated, “Joo Ji Hoon is deeply reflecting upon his disappointing actions of the past. Because he is still very apologetic, he hesitated a lot about coming back to the small screen. But because the directors and writers were so keen on casting him for the drama, Joo Ji Hoon was able to join the cast.”

They continued, “We hope that Joo Ji Hoon will be pardoned for his past mistakes through his good acting skills, which he wishes to partake as if it’s his first time. He is determined not to let everyone down since many people have given him this great opportunity.”

“Five Fingers” is still in its casting process and will air after “A Gentleman’s Dignity.

It's kind of crazy that he's finally getting another big break again. The Devil really was the climax of his drama career but after this whole drug debacle I was surprised if he was even going to be able to make it back to the small screen.

I know, I love Gd but I really don't understand what's Korea's deal, how does their law system works.
Maybe he pissed them off saying that he'll go to military if they forgive him, lol? I read that caused some controversy too.
I mean just when I remember that old actor who literally killed a person while drunk driving and tried to get rid of the body and police caught him and like everyone knew about it, and they let him go. Nothing happened to him. And they call him ~national treasure.

i don't understand people especially here at omona (not only you, so don't take it personally). killing people accidently (like in this case because his mind is not sane due to alcohol influence) is not a murder.

joo ji hoon took drugs with SANE MIND and he choose to take it without any force thus he is wrong for it. as simple as that. while the so called 'murderer' killed a person without a motive because he is NOT SANE at that time get away because he did the crime without a SANE MIND. there's a big different between those two. gd should face the same punishment as jjh tbh.

Also both Joo Ji Hoon and GD were very drunk when they took the drugs. However, Joo Ji Hoon's case was more serious 'cause he did it at least twice and he took more serious drugs as well as hang out with those drug smugglers. GD got off only with a warning 'cause the amount of found from his system was incredibly small (under punishable level in South Korea). If more would have been found from his system he would have certainly been prosecuted.

The fact is there are only evidence and witnesses of two times for Joo Ji Hoon and one time for GD and in both cases in a party. Did they do more? Maybe, but we won't ever know and thus we have to go just by known facts. There is always a chance too that Jo guy has killed multiple people with his drunk driving but has been only caught once. But as we don't know for sure, we just have to go with judging him on that one kill.

And no it doesn't make him a murderer, but a completely rotten human being who should have stayed in jail for years. And comparing his case with either Joo Ji Hoon's or GD's is incredibly far fetched and stupid considering the difference in seriousness of crimes. And even more stupid is that saneness argument considering all of those three were drunk.

Because, I've never heard about evidence that GD and Ji Hoon were drunk when they did drug, only that they were in a party.
And I was in parties in which some guys did drugs before getting drunk.

So, that guy is not a murderer. Let's call a murderer, when the person is an actual murderer. The word is strong enough to use it in a correct way. Like ppl in Omona love to randomly talk about incest and pedophillia.

It wasn't stupid at all to compare them, lol. It was not stupid at all because what OP was trying to differentiate in these crimes (since they are ALL crimes) was the actual INTENTION. And of course intention is important to judge a person.

GD & Ji Hoon intentionnally took drugs and this guy and Daesung unintentionally killed someone. Yet no one cares about GD & Ji Hoon's intention, while everyone INVENTS an intention to a guy that killed someone by calling him a murderer. That Jo guy intentionally got into his car and drove while very well knowing that he's drunk, and then intentionally tried to hide a body. I think both of those actions are far worse than anything either GD or Ji Hoon might have ever intended to do. But whatever floats your boat. Personally I wouldn't call the guy murderer, but a killer like Koreans do. But as the guy is a rotten piece of shit, I don't care if people call him a murderer.

So he was drunk, still decided to take the car (which is illegal) and then he killed a woman (which is a crime) But not only that he also tried to hide the body of the poor girl, just in case he got caught (which yeah, it's also a crime).
Don't know where you live, but on here he would have been in jail for some time.
He might not be a murderer, cause he didn't mean to kill the lady but he is a criminal and he should have been in jail.

i just don't like that these broadcast stations choose to not associate themselves with people like joo ji hoon yet it's okay to hire a drunk driver who went to prison like it's no big deal. it's like they are sending a message... drunk drivers are okay, but if you have ever used drugs then you are somehow not welcomed by society and don't deserve a second chance. but lets face it i'm pretty sure drug users have a greater stigma in asian countries than drunk drivers.

gd should have definitely faced a punishment, but since big bang bring in so much revenue and attention to korea they probably decided to slap him on the hand and send him on his way.
