Soccer player Park Ji Sung kept the promise he made to IU.
IU held her first solo concert ‘Real Fantasy‘ on June 3rd at Kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall and Park Ji Sung was present. The reason Park Ji Sung came was because he made a promise with IU on SBS’ ‘Running Man‘.
At the start of the second half of her concert, IU said, “There is a very special guest present today in the audience. We met through SBS ‘Running Man’ and I asked him to come to my concert and I am very grateful that he came.”
Park Ji Sung was then surprised when he was suddenly shown on the electronic display board. He was initially shocked, but then smiled and waved.
Netizens who heard Park Ji Sung went to IU’s concert commented saying, “Did you give up on the Mysterious Park Ji Sung? He has great manners“, “I guess Park Ji Sung is an uncle fan too“, ”I would be so nervous if Park Ji Sung was present at my concert“, and “A successful fan“.
On another note, other celebrity guests present at her concert were 2AM, Ra.D, Heo Gyung Hwan, and Lee Seung Ki.

IU's solo concert makes everyone anticipate her future

"Out of all the 20 year old solo female singer's concerts in Korea, how many of them will be able to hold a concert this successful?"
On the 3rd at the Peace Hall in Kyunghee Unviserity, IU held her first nation-wide solo concert.
From IU's amazing vocals and a fairytale-like stage to the large orchestra and band and their splendid performance. Although it seemed like the echos from the music were fighting with IU's singing, it did not negatively affect the overall performance.
'Cruel Fairytale', 'You and I', 'Peach', 'Nagging', 'Every End of the Day', 'Marshmallow' and other various hit songs got a lot of cheers from the male fans and all the fans were on the edge of their seats when watching IU dance to Black Eyed Pea's 'Boom Boom Pow', Rain's 'Rainism' and Hyuna and Jang Hyunseung's 'Trouble Maker'.
Even though it was IU's first solo concert, she was able to control her audience well. Through her witty comments and variety of expressions, she was able to give off the impression of a older sister, little sister, and a daughter all at once. Although on stage there was only 1 IU, the emotions that each audience member felt were all different.
IU was very considerate of everyone who was there. She considered how the male fans would feel, she frequently gave little speeches that were aimed towards the female fans, and she paid close attention to the people who were sitting on the 2nd and 3rd floor since they would have a hard time looking at her. Although there were a lot of young fans, she sang couple of old songs in order to please the older fans who were also present. Going a step further, she even thought about the fans that weren't able to attend her concert by creating a phone call event.
In most concerts, time to time singers use different facial expression to take over the concert arena, however instead of using this technique, IU created a comfortable and emotional atmosphere in the concert arena.
Most of all, instead of showing the difference between the past and the present IU through her songs and dance, IU showed how much more she could improve in the future. Although 2AM and Lee Seunggi did perform as guests, IU was able to make people throw away their worries of how a 20 year old singer could lead a concert by herself.
Starting in Seoul, after her 6 city tour ends, we wonder how mature she would become when she gets back on stage.

IU keeps her promise and invites a taxi driver to her concert

Singer IU keeps the year old promise that she made with a taxi driver.
On the 3rd, Im Leetaek, who is better known as IU taxi driver, stated "I went to IU's concert yesterday. It was amazing. It was the first concert that I ever went to. I went with my kids" through his twitter.
He added, "I wanted to express my thanks to IU but the worker didn't know if he was allowed let me in... So I just watched the concert and came home. Thank you so much.. Thank you.. When you were singing 'Nagging' I wanted to get up and sing but I didn't. I didn't want to look pitiful just singing by myself. Hope you keep on having fun concerts. I'll pray that your concerts will keep on being a big hit. Thank you thank you IU."
Through SBS Dalgona, Im Leetaek revealed on June last year that, "He asked her to sing IU and Im Seulong's 'Nagging' with him in his taxi without knowing that it was actually IU. Later, he finally realized it was her."
On that same day IU had stated, "When I have my first concert I'll give the taxi driver and his family front row seats."

2AM and Lee Seung Gi taken aback by IU's concert

2AM and Lee Seung Gi appeared onstage at IU’s concert to show their surprise at the same thing: the substantial number of men in the audience.
The first concert of IU’s national tour Real Fantasy 2012 took place on June 3 in Seoul and brought 2AM and Lee Seung Gi onstage to sing as guests.
2AM’s Lim Seulong made a surprise appearance onstage and sang Nagging with IU, a performance that was followed by his performance of I Wonder If You Hurt Like Me and Even If I Die, I Can’t Send You with fellow 2AM members Lee Chang Min and Jung Jin Woon.
The three members of 2AM said on their visit, “We came to sing for IU because we wanted to repay her for coming to our concert last time.”
When the audience clapped after the comment, the members then voiced their surprise at hearing applause different from the type they were used to, saying, “This is heavy applause the likes of which we’ve never heard before.”
They then tried to tread carefully and pick what they said about IU so that they wouldn’t get off on the wrong foot with her male fans.
When the audience booed after they said, “IU can do a lot of things, but her handwriting is really bad,” they immediately covered up by saying, “We’re sorry. She’s good at everything,” and when Chang Min picked up a bottle of water that IU had drunk out of for himself, the other members pulled him back, saying, “You can’t do that even if your throat is sore.”
Another of the show’s guests, Lee Seung Gi, showed the same reaction. He said, “It’s different from my concerts; there are so many men that I can hear thick low notes [in the audience]…. Hello.” He then finished by saying, “From here on, IU and I…. Well, I hope you give me just a bit of the love you give IU.”
As such, 2AM and Lee Seung Gi were both surprised at the male ratio of IU’s audience, and at the same time showed they were very wary of the fact.
The rest of IU’s concert was said to be of excellent quality, starting with the fairytale-like fantasy opening of Cruel Fairy Tale and continuing on with such hits as You and I, Peach, Nagging, Marshmallow, Hey and Good Day.
2AM, Lee Seung Gi, Huh Kyeong Hwan and more stars appeared as guests, and soccer player Park Ji Sung was spotted sitting on the audience thanks to his ties with IU through their appearance in the recent episode of SBS’ Running Man.

Somehow, this paragraph makes me feel really bad for IU. Stuff like that shouldn't be a big deal, or even a little deal.

Date: 2012-06-05 01:31 am (UTC)but anyway, ia, she's really young and these are extremely trivial things. she's not a fragile little petal that's going to fall off with a few tweaks.
