JYJ’s Jaejoong praised for his acting in ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin’

As episodes one and two of MBC‘s ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin‘ hit airwaves on May 26th and 27th, JYJ‘s Jaejoong is receiving much praise for his acting in the new historical drama. Jaejoong has taken the role of a high Joseon military official who was born from a noble family and a fateful rival to Dr. Jin Hyuk (Song Seung Hun).

Although there were a few awkward moments as this is his first attempt at a historical drama, Jaejoong successfully portrayed his character Kim Kyung Tak. His transformation to a strict military official in the Joseon dynasty and his sageuk dialect has surely captivated the audience. Jaejoong has also been receiving countless praises as he had perfectly expressed the pain of being born out of wedlock but showed his friendly, softer side towards his loved one.

In celebration of Jaejoong’s first historical drama, fans from Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong have put up a Twitter trend with the hashtag #JJinDrjin after the broadcast of episodes one and two. The hashtag reached the #1 spot for trending, proving that he’s one of the leading Hallyu stars of Asia.

Meanwhile, Jaejoong released “Living Like a Dream“, the soundtrack for the new drama, and has been receiving a lot of interest on music and portal sites.

Man...those Viki teams are not messing around these days. Those same day subs they were pumping out for RTP and K2Hs were crazy! Dramafever was doing next day subs for Equator Man at the same time.

My poor Queen In Hyun's Man has Kimchi Dramas trying to make it happen...only like a 2 day delay...

I remember when getting subs in 2 weeks was fast. Heck for some Chinese shows finishing a project in 6 months is still fast but the turn around on the popular ones is crazy too.

I'll probably wait until the most of the drama's already subbed (like I always do) but I watched parts of the first episode. Jaejoong nailed the sageuk intonation, but his delivery of his lines was just a bit off. Like he's doing them well yet not so well.

I think Jaejoong's speech was a little too hurried. If he slowed his speech a little, I think he'll be just fine.

I think Jaejoong has improved a lot. I was somewhat sceptic of his role in this at first, but upon watching the first 2 episodes I was pleasantly surprised. He's still somewhat awkward at times, but I bet he'll get better and more comfortable with his character as the drama progresses.

His character is really interesting and you can either hate him or pity him.
There was a scene in episode 2 between his character and his character's father where I though "wow, his acting has gotten so much better."
I tend to like Jaejoong's acting more than Yoochun's because Jaejoong seems to portray a serious character a lot better and his anger is a lot more believable.
The article is right about his character.
He tries so hard to please his father even though he will always be second best because he was born out of wedlock.
He definitely has a soft spot for Park MinYoung's character even though she doesn't seem interesting at all.

I tend to not like historical dramas but Dr.Jin has caught my attention.
There's this underlying mystery that I want to see solved but the surgery scenes make my skin crawl.
Lee BumSoo character is the best part f this drama.

I didn't think he could pull off saeguk drama but i'm impressed. His intonation is good and he control his expression pretty well.
On the contrary i'm really disapointed about Min Young acting. I decided to watch the drama for her (thinking to skip it because afraid that jaejoong will be too embarassed to watch lol) cause i loved her in Sunkyunkan Scandal but i basically hate her from ep 1. Maybe it's because i loved her character in the japanese version and she is the complete opposite. She is so mean and not lovable at all for me :(

Also i'm so sad because even if I was waiting for jaejoong to hand up alone at the end, i was expecting some good feeling between him and the lead girl. But he is rejected from the start!

i was actually quite impressed by his acting, it improved A LOT since heaven's postman.. i find him a bit stiff, but it kind of goes with his character, i guess.
even if jae wasn't there, i'd still watch it for song seunghun. that man looks so damn fine all the time in dr. jin :Q_______

am i seeing something else…? he's barely acting, like any other idol actor, but it's not rave worthy. he's still stiff and awkward to me, maybe even more than in protect the boss. not that i'm going to take his acting seriously, i generally laugh at all of his scenes.

urmm... did I watched a different drama than you guys?
I thinks bb looks pretty but quite awkward especially in his intonation/speech delivery. I was hoping he is good since I like him in PTB but not really. But the leads are not that good too just at least his shortcoming is not to jarring, just don't have too many scene with LBS though. Hopefully things can get better in next episodes.

He's a little ackward in some scene but I'm giving him the benefit of doubt cause it's his first venture into saguek and it's just his 3rd drama(including Sunao). And he did said the top knot is not helping him in his facial expression delivery cause he's still not used to it. Hope with time comes, he'll get more comfortable with his role and his acting will improve. I think his expressions during the angry scene and the scene with his father/ Yongrae was not bad actually.
