Actress Lee Mi-sook’s former agency, The Contents Media, revealed on Tuesday that it had paid large amounts of money to a male escort Lee was seeing some time ago in order to uphold Lee’s image in public.

During a court proceeding that took place at the Seoul High Court, the agency said its former talent was in a relationship with a male escort 17 years her junior.

In order to keep the man from talking, the agency said that it bribed him with millions of won.

The agency has remained tight-lipped about the ordeal, saying it won’t make an official statement until the final court proceeding that will take place on June 28.

The Contents Media sued Lee back in November of last year for breaching the exclusive contract she signed.

The court agreed that Lee was guilty and ordered her to pay 100 million won ($85,349) in penalties.

However, The Contents Media said that the agency was owed at least double the amount of the fine and appealed for a second trial.

So basically they leaked this info so the judge will think she is a gross human being and reverse the ruling into giving the company more money that's wrong on so many fucking levels

Technically they could probably have used this information as evidence that they were entitled to more money in the settlement, I guess?

but the money they are claiming they spent is so minimal to what they already receiving from her they claimed they only paid millions of won so >10 other wise they would have said 10's or 100's million won and they are already recieving 100 million won from her and they are claiming they deserved double tht amount. Paying an escort wouldn't double that amount but it would put a really nasty target on her head and make her a "sick woman" in the eyes of many which could lead to a better settlement in their favor

That's a dick move Contents Media. We see what you're doing.

Seriously, if I were a talent in Korea looking for a new agency, I wouldn't want to get anywhere near a company that actively spreads scandal when they get pissed off.

and it's biased against women so you know this will be blown so out of proportion as testament to her 'poor morals' despite the 9 million cases with females, escorts and non-workers, being mistreated...then again, I guess that's comparing apples to oranges.

If it's true, then why shouldn't the company ask for more compensation? I mean, from the article it doesn't sound like the agency leaked this news to the press, and just released it in a court proceeding which was probably public. I don't understand why other comments are so upset with the agency. They gave her the freedom of choosing her own relations which is more than some agencies will do, and tried to protect her image for her own, and of course their own, sake. Let's not pretend to not know how ANY sort of relations can so strongly harm a celebrity's image in Korea. If that was money invested in her and she broke contract, then... I guess I don't see why they are wrong for asking.

it angers me because what they are claiming they spent on it is pocket change to what they are already getting from her and it comes across as shaming and painting her as an unmorral person to get double what they were originally rewarded when the cost of paying off the escort to be quiet ( because the way i read the article she paid for the escort until the agency paid to keep him quiet) wouldnt cost then as much as they are asking.

hmm, true, i didn't really look at the numbers so what you're saying makes sense. still, i think some of the earlier comments were a little extreme. i guess i don't care enough to go to the source or make sure how accurate the article is, but it's rarely so cut and clear where only one party is totally wrong. there are probably so many factors involved, such as on what terms she is leaving, that they feel wronged enough that they don't care about burning bridges and pulled an admittedly low move.

anyway, i'm not taking either side. hopefully they settle it fairly, quickly, and drama-free as possible, and both can move on so korea's courts can work on some of those messed up societal issues we've been seeing on omona.

The worst someone did was call them scumbags and dicks for pulling her character through the mud to get more money out of her. Obviously she broke a contract and they were awarded money already but this just screams of greed and dickwaddery to get a higher settlement. If they truly are entitled to more money if should be obvious with out the mudslinging

i watched her in the actresses and she was so great in it (all the actresses were).

i wonder why contents media didn't include this bit of information when they first went to court?
