The music video for “Bounce“ from JYP Entertainment‘s new rookie duo,
JJ Project, has been getting an enormous amount of attention worldwide.
Soon after its release on May 20, the MV reached #4 Most Liked, #10 Most Viewed,
#7 Most Discussed, and #4 Most Favorited video worldwide on YouTube.
In South Korea, JJ Project’s debut music video ranked #1 on all four charts.
JJ Project’s debut album also recently hit #10 on iTunes‘ ‘Top Dance Album‘ chart as well.
Members JB and Jr. liven up their classroom in the ”Bounce” MV,
showing a funky and colorful performance that makes viewers want to bounce and shake along with them.

~ Interview with Osen:
“Our song? We have air, haha!”
“They will become JYPE’s freshest group.”
The new duo group JJ Project launched by JYP Entertainment has claimed that they will win over with their exciting and fresh charms different to other idol groups. Unlike idol groups who plan out a whole choreography, JJ Project want to show a mischievous side and have fun with the fans. They emphasize on the word ‘project’ to show that they are willing to grow with their fans.
“We want to become a group that communicates with the fans. Instead of doing well right away, we want to grow with the fans. We were under pressure for being a 2 member group but we will do our best to fill up the stage with the energy of two people. I am confident to have fun on stage” (JB)
JJ Project consists of two member born in the same year (1994). JB’s full name is Im Jae Bum and JR’s full name is Park Jin Young so they decided to change their names. Both have been best friends for 3 years despite their differentiation in personality and likes.
“We were tied for first place at jyp’s 2009”2009년 JYP open audition. We had tied in the dancing section. I didn’t know that we’d make a duo but now i do feel that we are a group. During the audition panel round, we have even teamed up together to perform on stage. I thought that we look good together on stage and there is a certain charm that both of us bring together.” (JR)
Both are into dance, but JB is the vocalist and JR does most of the rapping. As they are expecting to grow bigger, they can still change roles.
“We did a lot of singing practice. Since i am a dancer i can only be concerned about the vocals. I was really concentrating on it during my trainee period. Air? I can still breathe (laughs) The trainee period was fun. I did cry when some trainee students had left, but there was no stress.” (JB)
The two have complete opposite personalities, tastes and hobbies. Quiet JB usually likes to go on a field trip by bus on a rainy day, enjoys cooking, and reading Haruki Murakami’s books. JR who has a bright personality uses his time to dance and watch dramas. These days, he is enjoying kbs ‘Love rain’.
JJ Project was already known through kbs ‘Dream High 2’ and they wish to give enjoyment to the elderly as well. The song ‘Bounce’ has the concept of having fun with the background of high school.
“I prefer feedback such as ‘It’s exciting’ rather than ‘It’s cool’. Our first stage is on the 24th through Mnet ‘M Countdown’. I am nervous and happy.” (JR)

‘‘If JJ Project’s Park Jin Young and Im Jae Bum meet…’’
‘JYP jackpot’, ‘Park Jin Young’s ambition’ JJ Project will finally make their debut. The protagonists with the familiar faces and new names are JB and JR. the two have made themselves known through ‘Dream High 2’. They share another thing in common, other than winning first place at jyp’s audition. It is for having the same name as the famous singers.
JJ Project’s Jb’s real name is Im Jae Bum and JR’s real name is Park Jin Young. JR got to speak out about the pressure for having a famous name to Newsen: “The netizens left lots of comments when i was chosen as the winner of the audition, there were many comments about Park Jin Young picking Park Jin Young and i laughed about those.”
You cannot avoid the fatalism that the singers follow their song titles and people follow their names. Having the name of famous singers has played a big role for them. JB smiled and said “When i am with my friends, they want me to sing the song ‘Confession’. I think i sang ‘Confession’ a thousand times at school”.
JR has been through the same experience as well. He heard a lot of people saying ‘Park Jin Young, dance!’ during picnics or school festivals. “I got to stand in front of many people for dancing to Park Jin Young’s songs. As this situation happened a lot, standing in front of people had become more natural.”
G.o.d had given the most encouragement to JB for becoming a singer. JB dreamt of becoming a singer in primary school because he thought that G.o.d was cool, since then he was felt the charm of dancing and started to dance with the hyungs in his neighborhood. After teaming up and holding up activities, he got to audition for JYPE and was tied for first place along with JR.
JR became a singer because he couldn’t forget his experience on stage. “I dreamt of becoming a singer but my parent’s told me to quit, but i followed a hyung i knew to the auditions. I couldn’t make it but the stage i stood on was very shocking. It had become a motivation. I wanted to feel the bliss that i felt on stage back then.”
JR said “I want to enjoy the stage just like my name Park Jin Young.” And JB said “Park Jin Young Pd created the debut song ‘Bounce’ so i am worried about how i can express the song”. JJ Project’s debut song ‘Bounce’ is an exciting ’hip-rock-tronica’ song that makes your body move naturally.”We want to show ourselves having fun rather than having a planned out choreography. I think it would be good if the audience can enjoy it as well.” and “I want to hear a compliment from Park Jin Young Pd that our debut stage was fun”.

But they are adorable omg, JR keeps staring at JB when he's talking lol. Glad they did DH2 actually, they seem more at east with cameras and interviews etc. And JB is sounding good, hopefully he does the dancing + singing live well. Can't wait for their debut! I think these two are going to/already love each other a lot. Can actually feel my heart welling up from their love for each other. IT'S THE ULTIMATE SHIP GUYS since there's only 1 combination hahaha.
Unfortunately 2012 is the year I officially become a noona fan, with so many of these average-group-age-of-18 boy groups popping up. But if we get to have groups like JJ Project, WHY THE HELL NOT. Embracing my noona-ness, here we go.
