YG Entertainment put in a request to cast 5 contestants from ‘K-Pop Star’

While viewers everywhere are growing ever-more curious as to what next steps the finalists from ‘K-Pop Star‘ will be taking, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk cautiously and honestly revealed his personal stance.

On May 17th, Yang Hyun Suk was asked about finalists Lee Ha Yi and Lee Seung Hun‘s possible recruitment to YG Entertainment. “I cannot give you any answers right now,” he answered, displaying his prudent nature. But in the past, YG has displayed a habit of very firmly and clearly denying the rumors that were in fact untrue, and his ambiguous answer suggests that there is a high possibility of Lee Ha Yi and Lee Seung Hun joining his company.

Yang Hyun Suk also carefully added, “I received a lot of calls after an exclusive article was issued with StarNews yesterday (16th). It is true that I spoke with the ‘K-Pop Star’ representatives at SBS to put in a casting request of the 5 contestants.”

Park Ji Min who placed first on ‘K-Pop Star’ has the elite opportunity of personally choosing to sign with either YG, SM Entertainment, or JYP Entertainment. The other contestants may sign with any company including the Big 3, however, they must go through SBS first.

“SM and JYP who also judged the auditions probably feel the same, but I think it’s only right to announce the recruitment of the other contestants only after winner Park Ji Min first joins a company,” YG continued. “Taking this into consideration, we will announce which contestants we requested to cast into our companies, only after Park Ji Min makes her final decision. Our announcement will most likely take place next week.”

Because YG is known to be cautious and take enough time before making any decision, the fact that he requested to cast the contestants suggests they will most likely be joining YG.

If the 5 ‘K-Pop Star’ contestants sign with YG to become trainees, it will be the first time all the contestants from an audition program will be signing with a single entertainment company.

YG’s announcement left viewers more curious to know which stars will join his empire, and what kind of artists they will become after going through YG’s rigorous training system.

Even if he was casted by YG in the show I always thought he seemed more like SM idol type. Idk. Anyhow SM probably will put in request only for that super cute little boy who was awesome at dancing, but couldn't sing for shit and maybe for Lee Seung Hoon too.

Yeah I agree, I just really like him and it'd be awesome if he was a trainee at YGE LOL. You mean the blonde, mushroom-haircut little kid? Yeah his singing was atrocious, but he could daaaance. I think SM would probably try and get Baek Ah Yeon too, unless JYPE already has.

Agreed. She was so awesome, but I'm not deluded about the reality of the kpop world, and her chances in the industry are sadly pretty slim and I know the entertainment companies are aware of that. Even YG.

Lee Seung Hoon's originality and color definitely suits YGEX. So I guess it might be him,along the other unknown-4.

Although I want Su Pearls come back together and just debuted as a group, it would be a side project considering Park JiMin's the winner and all.

Btw,how come noone's predicting where would Park JaeHyung go? SME much? LOL (I loooooooooovvveeeeee his voice btw.Him and that other guitar dude from the states thta got cut from the top 18(?) whose voice is as dreamy as Justin Nozuka's <3)

Yeah seung hoon was that one (I'm still pissed of how he dropped Lee Michelle). And even if YG seems to really love him, I think he would be much better fit for JYP (he could debut in some 2PM type of group that wouldn't require him to be good singer/rapper) than YG.

I really just wanted Park Ji Min to sign to YG even b4 she won the thing. I think she'd fit in great. I want Lee Michelle to sign to YG but JYP would suit her too imo and I think JYP would be more ~open~ to take a chance with her (if she doesn't get signed tho shits gon get real cuz the girl can sing). Lee Seung Hoon seems JYP/Cube material to me. I just don't see him in YG. Lee Ha Yi: JYP. TBH it's hard to picture people in SM since SM doesn't really have special characteristics or a company culture.
