OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JYPE

Dear Wonder Girls fans,

Today we would like to address the details about 2012 Wonder Girls’ activity.

First, we would like to emphasize that the entrance to the Japanese music market is just another stage for the Wonder Girls who already procured United States, China, and other regions worldwide as their performance stage. After Wonder Girls have received numerous inquiries from Japan and observing their advertisement and music business flourishing even without their official introduction, the members have expressed their intention for entering the Japanese market. Hence, we have been planning accordingly.

Similarly to the selection process for BGM for the ‘Mashu Puff Ko’ tie up advertisement; we requested the Japanese record label to listen to the Wonder Girls’ released albums including the latest singles, before we came to a conclusion. In order to accommodate their strong mutual interest in ‘Nobody,’ we decided to move forward with ‘Nobody’ as the title song for their first Japanese album.

Next, we would also like to address the domestic (Korea) schedule for Wonder Girls.

Wonder Girls’ new album in Korea is scheduled to be released in early June. We have a line up of captivating performances, to meet the expectation of our domestic fans. We are delighted to inform you to highly anticipate the new looks from the Wonder Girls for this upcoming album.

Last announcement is in regards to the plans for U.S. activities.

After the Wonder Girls TV movie has been aired through TeenNick, we have been receiving proposals from the major broadcasting companies in the United States. Therefore, we are in the middle of arbitration for the proposals we have received. As of now, our goal is to start implementing U.S. activities as soon as the plans for the TV-related project is finalized. We plan to utilize this project as a marketing tool for the release of the new album.

Finally, we would like to thank all our fans for your attention and continuous love and support for the Wonder Girls.

-"Nobody" rocks my life and idc how many times they promote/sing it; I'll never get tired of it. Timeless.
-As much as I don't doubt WG want to see their Japanese fans I doubt the members really pushed for an official debut. But JYPE's got a bottom line to meet so fine.
-In retrospect WG's discography has been so good (first album amazing, second album a goddamn masterpiece, strong singles that obv were enough to procure lots of popularity in Korea) so I'm just glad we're getting more of it, be it Korean or English. Though I do hope that American album drops before it's time for the girls to retire.

I hate to be 'that' person but I love their korean music SO MUCH MORE than their american releases. Their english is getting better but it just doesn't compare. American artists don't go translating all of their work into other languages so why must they!?!

That's how I feel. People are loving the Hallyu in its own language, so what's the point? Rammstein did well for themselves, singing in German. Spanish-language stuff has an easy time in the US, of course. That hardly counts, as it's pm an official language. ;)

Cultural imperialism, though. I suppose. English is more widely spoken, and you'll reach a wider audience. I played "Keep Your Head Down" during a car ride, and my cousin whined that she liked the beat, and that it should be given to someone who can sing over it in English. I suspect a lot of people/Americans would feel that way. I want to say "I get it"- people explained about connecting to lyrics and such before- but I can't relate at all. Just as you said- so many people listen to Western artists, with very little understanding of the lyrics. Why can't we?

I'm glad they released something official. at least they have a korean comeback really really soon. what they do in japan is of little concern to me since I'm not in Japan and I'm familiar with them already. japanese promo isn't for koreans or non-japanese international fans. it's for japan. It's always good to meet new fans. If this is what they have to do and "Nobody" was mutually decided on the so be it. I have faith in them and I'm hopeful about their new music. They've given us a lot in just the past 6 months. it won't kill anyone to be patient.

Happy for the girls, but I'm worried at the same time. JYP is seriously overworking this group with no results. He's going to kill them with exhaustion. He's jumping from country to country trying to get any kind of success, yet he's not willing to let them stay in one place long enough to see and enjoy the success. I feel so bad for these girls.

BTW, JYP should realize that if he's putting so much faith & effort in a group, they must have more than "one" hit song. WG is good enough that there's no need to keep releasing the same song over and over again.

I think they tried the stay in 1 place and try to get traction thing with them literally all of 2009-2010 with them living in NYC. But the result of that was that they lost their fanbase in Korea.

Nobody is like my least favourite song (Honestly my favourite is Ee Babo) but it's okay just happy to see my girls have more activities. Japan will be fun I think and there's going to be a Japanese version of You're Out. I love their ballads too, so yeah. Here's the track list:
