i think he tries really hard to reproduce the american pronunciation and suppress his accent. If GD is good at anything, is imitating. You can see gd struggling to reply when he is asked something, because he is translating the conversation in his head. If he spoke it more, in interviews for example, he would get more confident :) look at sooyoung, she is not fluent but she always tries
