[..] We have prepared the column “star story” in our publishing which not only tells a truthful side to stars, but their past that brought them to where they are today. This episode’s protagonist is B.A.P’s Daehyun, who has stepped forth into the music industry with his strong charisma as he’s in charge of “innocence” in the group.
As the third runner up for the interview and the time being to interview Daehyun, he opened the door to the recording room of TS Entertainment where the interview was held, greeting the reporter with a bright smile. In asking the question if he’s overheard the interviews of bang Yongguk and Himchan, all he did was return a bashful smile.
“I was born in Kwangju of Jeollanam-do on June 28th, 1993. When I was in my mother’s womb, she claimed to have seen a cow with huge horns and that was the precognitive dream of my birth that she had of me (laughs).”
How was Daehyun’s childhood like? Despite having to fight against poverty due to the IMF, he never lost his smile and we could sense his optimistic personality.
“When I was younger, our household was pretty well off until the IMF occurred when I was in kindergarten, as poverty became my best friend. I wasn’t even able to go to kindergarten properly. How was I when I was a kid? I really didn’t listen, and on top of that I was a mischief haha.”
There was never a day where his body wasn’t covered in scars, proving how mischievous he was in how he played as a child. And due to his bright and cheerful personality, he had a lot of friends.
“There were a lot of incidents where I got hurt because I goofed around so much in elementary. I even skinned my knee from playing soccer and I had an incident where my face got skinned from a board when I was joking around with my girlfriend haha. Because I was sociable, I think I was too busy playing with my friends.”
Daehyun wasn’t just childish as there were many times he would watch his father’s hardware store.
“In fourth grade, my father owned a hardware store and I would watch over the store a lot and at the time, I did feel disappointed that I couldn’t go out to play as much but I knew that I had to help out my father also. I took joy in buying snacks to eat at the hardware store with the allowance my father gave me if I sold an item. And one day, my older brother started tagging along with me and watching over the store (laughs).”
