E-Sens receives his sentence for marijuana use

Supreme Team‘s E-Sens has been sentenced to a 1-year-2-month imprisonment and a 2-year probation after being charged with smoking marijuana.

On April 13th, the Seoul Central District Court also sentenced him to 160 hours of community service, 40 hours of drug rehabilitation and lectures, and a fine of about $1900 (2,130,000 WON).

Back in November, E-Sens opened a press conference at Supreme Team’s recording studio in Seoul where he confessed to smoking marijuana.

E-Sens was blindsided when he was taken in by police last September and investigated for marijuana use. Investigators revealed, “For about one year, he smoked marijuana that he obtained from acquaintances around his house.”

I'm really glad Korea treats it's recreational drug users worse than it does it's rapist, murders and child molesters. If he's getting all of this for smoking weed, I want Jaejoong and Yoochun to get jail time for assault.

hmmm maybe it has to do with the victim blaming mentality, the victims are at fault too in their eyes or felt they "deserved it" in some way hence less severe punishments in the rape/murder/abuse cases. :/ who knows but I think that could be a major part of it. Like the racism issues there, it's hard to get rid of that mentality when most of society thinks that way.

I'm surprised there isnt more violent crime in korea considering how piddling the punishments are. i guess cause of the social backlash (well for crimes where there WOULD be social backlash for the perpetrators and not just victim blaming) just the way people in korea are socialized? i dun get it. then again i was confused why the guy who murdered over 100 children in norway wasnt sentenced to death or at least life in prison. i guess being american where so many people are in jail and prison terms are intense the rest world almost seems weird in comparison.

Supposedly because it was GD's 1st offence and he didn't have a lot in his system. With E-sens smoking for a year, I would assume that's why he got charged.

also, i think the reason he's getting this and g-dragon got nothing is definitely because gd is getting idol treatment because big bang are part of the hallyu wave, and supreme team are much lesser known. which is also very unfair and complete bullshit.
