Grass is green, sky is blue, Yoo Jae-seok is kids' choice again

For the fifth year in a row, Yoo Jae-seok has been selected as best comedian in the Korea Kids' Choice Awards.

This year, Yoo secured 63 percent of the 8,283 votes that were cast in an online survey by children in the best comedian category.

"I just want to thank the kids," Yoo said after learning that he won the award. "Last year, I wondered what it'd be like to win five years in a row. It's such an honor to realize that dream."

Also at this year's Kids' Choice Awards, singer IU was selected as favorite female singer for the second year in a row. Boy band Beast took the best male singer accolade.

Yoo has always been a popular entertainer among young Koreans.

Previously, in an episode of "Infinite Challenge," which he hosts, Yoo was selected as the best looking male contestant on the show by elementary school students.

He was sentenced to 8 months in prison last year for gambling so I'm not sure if he's out yet? Idr when he was sentenced. But I don't see him making a comeback anytime soon since he was under so much public scrutiny.

I had no idea he was sentenced to imprisonment, haven't really seen news about him since autumn 2010...

He's one of the funniest comedians I know, but I wonder if he can (or wants) make comeback. He had hard time making comeback in '05 (or something) when he had gambling issues, and it wasn't as serious back then as it was this time.

I was really shocked when I read about it. I didn't know he had a gambling problem or that he had prior issues involving gambling. Part of me wants him to make a comeback but a bigger part is kinda worried for him. I know the public felt 'betrayed' or something since he was dishonest about his gambling.

Every time there's kids on Running Man they always go straight to Jae Suk. They really do adore him. I'm not sure why but its pretty cute. and amusing considering Jae Suk doesnt have kids of his own.

And can I just say how annoyed I am by Happy Together's (not exactly) new format? The G4 take away so much airtime and I barely get to hear Myeongsu speak. Bongsun's lucky to even get to say 2 words.

they added G4?! i dun watch HT regularly but i did watch the episode where G4, snsd, kim gunmo etc guest starred. they were pretty entertaining in that epi. BUT, i dun think i will like a HT with G4 hoarding airtime every single episode. myeong su oppa is another flawless mc, though jaesuk is always my ultimate favourite. ugh, tell me thats not true. i was gonna make HT my miscellaneous show to watch when i have bits of free time here n there T.T

They're a permanent fixture :c Idk if I find them unfunny because I don't watch gag concert/don't get their humour but I don't find them to be enjoyable at all. I used to look forward to watching it every week but it's kinda meh now. The 10 year anniversary special was fun though because all the guests (especially Hyori) were really deep in conversation amongst themselves and the G4 could barely say a word lol.

oh damn. how does the jimjilbang / sauna room even fit in js, myeong su, misun, bongsun + 4 other grown men? and tbh i only watched them once, as guests they are fine. but i dun think i need additional mcs. 4 mcs is already quite alot imo. having 8 is EXCESSIVE ugh. they are just going to steal airtime that should rightfully go to the guests... I feel u, though i havent watched the show in its new format, but i always thought the original set up was perfectly fine. anything with Jaesuk+myeongsu rocks my world. misun and bongsun are fine imo too, 4 of them have good dynamics tgt.

I dun watch gag concert too. i watched cuts of it when my favourite idols appeared on gag concert... and i always thought those cuts were dumb and unfunny. I havent watched gag concert, but i dun think its my type of variety either :/ And lol ikr, i love to see jaesuk, hyori, jongkook, haha, daesung and any of the FO members interact. they are so close it just inevitably excludes the rest outside their 'little inner circle' LOL.

They have a studio made to look like a sauna now haha. I actually miss their tiny bathhouse set. I'm wondering why the PDs decided to enlist 4 new side-MCs instead of just changing the segments they have on the show or something. I only watched one cut with MBLAQ on recently and also when MBLAQ and U-kiss did trot parodies of their songs. The latter was ok because it was mostly the group being funny but I find the skits kinda awkward and the jokes go completely over my head T_T

The episode where Haha was on was so funny, I'm wondering why the rest of the RM haven't made appearances yet save for Ji Hyo and I think Suk Jin. I would love for Daesung to be on, or Yoon Jong Shin.

ouch that stinks. i like their tiny bathhouse set too its cute, warm and cozy haha. i agree, shld have just added a segment to include g4. actually no i dun get the need to change something thats already good to begin with. and i agree about gag concerts, i dun get their jokes etc, usually its really crude or slapstick humour and i dun think its funny or sometimes i just don't understand anything lol. i give up, i just watch my idols for their pretty on gag concert. but sometimes they do embarrassing things there and i cringe for them from secondhand embarrassment lol.

haha's epi was the mc special one with boom as well? haha i love his confession for jaesuk. omg jaesuk x haha brotherhood was so cute, esp when they slept tgt in that BoA epi. hahaha. jihyo went on? whats her epi? yups i agree. i wld love to see daesung, jong shin there. dumb n dumber reunion needs to happen! sooro was so funny on HT, loved him with yejin in that epi. arh shucks i shld quit this, i just miss FO now >.< thank god for RM though hahaha

I didn't mind the old Happy Together changes since it was just the main MCs who were rotated and all of them were so funny! But now it's like they're trying to capitalize on the Gag Concert cast by putting them on Happy Together to get more ratings since they're so popular with the locals. Which...as you said, why mess with a good thing? The show has one of the highest ratings as it is!

Yes! And Jang Yoonju! She's hilarious. Omgosh I'm so behind on RM. I can't wait for my term break and have a marathon. You can wait Ji Hyo's episode here (http://www.daebaksubs.com/2011/04/eng-happy-together-season-3-ep-186-w.html). I've only seen episodes of FO here and there (usually for guests I like) but I have all the episodes and can't wait to watch them ^_^
