Date: 2012-04-12 04:20 pm (UTC)Jong should truly be embarrassed that he stayed up all night trolling the digial charts when "Sherlock" was released.
I'm glad they were able to perform with a live band again- I know they had to be excited. But "Stranger" with a live band, no dancing, and no re-arrangement fell a little flat for me. They sounded great though. Jjong at that long note near the end *o*
I need to stop spazzing at work...

Date: 2012-04-12 04:55 pm (UTC)i liked their little impression on international fans dancing at the concerts "like they're clubbing! even during ballads!" hehehe
no subject
Date: 2012-04-12 05:06 pm (UTC)The best way tbh! I don't get how kfans can just sit there bobbing their lightsticks all in time. At SM Town Paris, me and my friends were raving away during pretty much everything.

Date: 2012-04-12 06:13 pm (UTC)Did they have that Trot singer and the girl from Japan open up the concert in Paris?

Date: 2012-04-13 12:10 pm (UTC)We were in standing so sitting down wasn't really an option but I wouldn't have been sat down even if I did have a seat. The concert was too much fun for that.
Nope, it started with f(x), I think SM Town Paris had less artists then LA.

Date: 2012-04-13 04:27 pm (UTC)There were seats in the floor section but no one was sitting, I mean no one. I'm too use to going to shows and being on my feet. Its most enjoyable that way :D

Date: 2012-04-12 05:12 pm (UTC)Why does it not surprise me one but that Jonghyun stayed at the computer watching the real time rankings for their songs when the album was released LOL
I really enjoyed that performance of Sherlock. Everything right down to the camera angles and lighting was better than some of the performances I've seen, and they all looked great in their not-so-ridiculous clothes woohoo

Date: 2012-04-12 10:10 pm (UTC)and ia about the lighting on Sherlock, one thing I disliked when they did their performances on music shows are the headache-inducing strobe lights, it's distracting the audience from the awesome choreo D:

Date: 2012-04-12 10:31 pm (UTC)I know some people hate it because it's too busy and all over the place but I really like the way they did the remix, it meshed the best parts of Clue and Note and it actually made me appreciate each of Clue and Note separately as well. It's definitely different from anything on kpop charts lately (as eloquently said by this review (http://onewthings.tumblr.com/post/20105536737/review-shinee-sherlock-izm-co-kr)), and I think the general public appreciates it that's why the mini is doing well (like what they said in the interview, it's funny that SHINee was surprised that it's doing well haha).
long comment is long, but yes iasfm about Sherlock :D

Date: 2012-04-14 06:11 pm (UTC)Huhu am I the only who likes Stranger more than Sherlock? I've watched the live perfs of that song so much

Date: 2012-04-14 07:06 pm (UTC)I like Stranger ever since I listened to the Japanese version, and the Korean version works for me (idk abt the lyrics tho, my Korean is like zero). Performance-wise, I enjoy both. Sherlock is such a performance piece for me and and Stranger, beside being a fun clubby song, also has a cool choreo that I definitely appreciate. I admit I rewatch a lot of Stranger performances because the lighting aren't as bad as compared to Sherlock and (for a rather shallow reason) every outfits they wear during Stranger were on point imho, and I can't say the same thing about Sherlock lol.
sorry for the essay lol, SHINee always makes me wordy

Date: 2012-04-14 08:57 pm (UTC)It's the shouty parts I don't like (like what the review says) but you're right abt it being different from the other songs now. The MJ feel does bring me back to their older material. What I first meant by "the old days" is their more relaxed way of singing (the whole feel, of course Jjong and Onew did their usual thing and I love them for it).
Same here. Watching their live perf & MR (I'm not into debating about the accuracy of such vids, but they do somewhat indicate the condition of their vocals) was what got me hooked. I was being such an objective viewer then. I fell in love. Haha. Now I know that even if I blindly love anything they put out now, it's nice to know that it's their talent that made me like them in the first place.
The wardrobe is part of why I like the Stranger performances!
OK, that was wordy.

ia. tbh I'm pretty new to SHINee so after listening to all their albums I was honestly not really impressed with RDD and to a lesser extent Lucifer (as a title track). those songs are ridic catchy and the concept were awesome and they were what (I gather) catapulted SHINee to mainstream music? but music-wise it was a set back from their older songs and I was kinda bummed because they have good vocals gdi why make them do chant songs D: (sorry if you happen to like those songs lol). that's why I was so happy when Sherlock came out because it feels like the music is going back to that direction yknow?
but we really shouldn't complain too much haha, I mean at least with SHINee there's still a consistent SHINee sound/music that's recognizable, and we can always count on them on the live performance department.
(SHINee's music is srs bzns yo)
