Following Kang Seungyoon and Kim Eunbi, she has rejected love calls from other entertainment agencies to join YG Entertainment.
Yoona Kim, who participated as a contestant on ‘Superstar K3’ on cable network Mnet, has become a YG Entertainment trainee.
Since the latter of last year, Yoona Kim has been receiving formal training as a trainee under YG Entertainment. A respective party of the music industry hinted, “From what I recall, after being eliminated from ‘Superstar K3’, Yoona Kim joined YG Entertainment as a trainee. Her desire to become a singer in Korea has been so strong, she even rejected lovecalls from several other agencies and chose YG Entertainment in the end.”
Yoona Kim was chosen at the preliminary round held in America where she demonstrated a different kind of talent, earning herself a chance to stand on stage during ‘Superstar K3’. She did well beating out the other auditionees in the beginning rounds, however, she failed to reach the TOP10 promotion and got eliminated.
The same respective party also added, “Yoona Kim’s Korean is still quite poor and she has been having difficulty learning the language. And because of this, she has had a few incidents where she forgot the lyrics to the songs during her stages on ‘Superstar K3’ and went through a rough patch. But as much as she has made mistakes, it is safe to assure that she will make a great artist with the systematic training she has been receiving through YG Entertainment.”
YG Entertainment has been showing much interest towards the contestants on audition show programs after taking in Kang Seungyoon and Kim Eunbi as trainees from ‘Superstar K2’.
