Big Bang and 2NE1 were voted as the favorite K-pop male and female bands in France.
Korea National Tourism Organization, with branches in France, conducted a poll through the tourist site to evaluate the preferences and behavior of oversea Hallyu fans. Of the 3,775 French fans who responded, 49.9% voted for Big Bang as the favorite boy group, while 2NE1 won 64.8% of the votes as the favorite girl group.
A high proportion of French male Hallyu fans preferred Big Bang, in addition to those in their early twenties. 2NE1 was favored similarly by both male and female fans, who were between the age of ten to twenty.
Other groups who ranked in the top were Super Junior (45%), SHINee (35.5%), B2ST (33.8%), 2PM (24.2%) for male groups, and Girls’ Generation (45.4%), miss A (31.5%), f(x) (29.4%), and T-ara (25.9%) out of the female groups. (It is assumed that fans were able to choose more than one group as the percentage values total up to more than 100)
Of the solo male singers, Rain earned 33.2% of the votes, while IU earned 54.2% of the votes as the favorite solo female singer.

BB and 2ne1 are considered hype within the kpop world and SME is insanely popular (I was expecting Super Junior to be actually first or at least closer in numbers).
I'm glad about Beast tho. Wasn't expecting this. Which makes them go to London even more surprising to me. Did they had their concert there in the end by the way? I don't even know. #ultimatefan#. No ukiss is shocking. I though they had a large fanbase here. T-ara is also surprising imo. I though it would Kara and not them at this spot.
Boa 's absence has probably to do with the fact that she is currently in "hiatus" and that majority of people have very short memories when they are into kpop.

They're rather popular, especially these days since they're having a concert in France (3 of them arrived yesterday I think). And I'm actually surprised by the lack of DBSK. They were my first K-pop band, and I think it's the case for many people so it's strange not to mention them.

French fans obviously want YG to come (who wouldn't?) but I don't think we settled for SM at all.

SM is very popular here, most article or TV show talk about them (even if TF1 is stupid enough to say that BB has 6 members and SuJU 9... smh at french journalist). YG is gaining popularity thanks to BB and 2NE1 though, but other artist from YG are not that well known while SM has a lot of big names here.
