Yesterday, bouts of rumors claiming that f(x)‘s Amber and Rainbow’s Woori would be departing from their variety show, ‘Invincible Youth 2‘, turned up. Today, both members have confirmed the rumors to be true.
Following MC Lee Soo Geun and Ji Hyun Woo, Amber and Woori will be leaving ‘Invincible Youth 2′. Amber will be leaving to focus on f(x)’s comeback, which will take place in the first half of the year, while Woori is leaving to focus on Rainbow’s Japanese album activities.
Their last recording took place on March 28th, and many of the members shed tears as they bid the two goodbye. Their farewell episode will air on April 7th.
Gagwoman Kim Shin Young and model/TV star Lee So Ra will be joining the show as MCs.

This sucks, man... I'm happy that f(x) is coming back and Rainbow is doing good in Japan but their departure from IY2 will further decrease it's rating 'cause let's be honest, almost everyone watches IY2 because of Amber. Oh well, at least there's still Sunny and Hyoyeon keeping the show alive.

I know they couldn't get Shinyoung because of clashing in timeslots but there are other female MCs out there (Shin Bong Sun, Jung Juri? all I remb at the top of my head so far). I like Su Geun but I felt like there's too big of a generation gap between him and the girls plus isn't his wife ill? I think that really affected his involvement into the show. Hyun Woo is cute but waaaaaaay too background + his personality never suited variety.
Boom honestly... he would never work in this because he's too obnoxious, cares too much about him getting attention than the show. Plus, he works better with male idols imo because they are less concerned with image and now how to rebut back to him well.
yeah, Hyoyeon needs someone to spark her personality like it comes out in SNSD only shows. Yoona/Seobb/Sooyoung really know how to bring out her variety side and I think she works very well when she's with people she's comfortable with. They should've gotten Min instead of Suzy for the show since Min's personality is more suited for variety in the first place plus she & Hyo are close friends, I feel like she can bring out that spark in Hyoyeon.

Date: 2012-03-30 04:30 pm (UTC)yeah, the casting in s1 was gold because even they got a ton of rookies, the girls they got had the personality or potential to be funny or entertaining. Hyomin, Sunhwa, Jooyeon, Victoria, etc. were all newbies at variety but they had variety potential and their personalities aren't really mellow or calm as well. compared to the variety newbies they cast (Bora & Suzy in particular), their irl personalities aren't suited for variety and they lack the sense at variety, they were chosen more for their popularity rather than their variety sense.
