and tbh, it didnt look that scripted to me. i'm pretty sure donghae got help with the date, but he's crazy romantic (he probably sits around thinking about this kind of stuff, its kinda sad... but true) so i'm sure he came up with most of the stuff himself, with help, of course.
just seems like normal donghae to me tbh. he is super awkward, most of the time.
Honestly, I've been watching WGM for the awkward moments (idk, I'm one of those weird people that love to watch awkward moments and think they're hilarious) and for Donghae/Teukie/SJ.
I rewatched the earlier WGM teuksora episodes when Fighting Junior or the "Sujummas" appeared whenever teuksora were awkward and they kept pointing out that Donghae couldn't look Sora in the eye and that he was "forever alone" because he kept messing up or even though he was awkward he was still charming and adorable.
They had a lot of fun poking fun at Donghae in WGM. His helplessness at gadgets, learning choreography on the fly, awkwardness around girls, etc.
It's weird though, whenever I watch Donghae on Mandarin variety shows, He wasn't this awkward. and he knew how to work it in dance:
(jump to 2:34)
and with the ladies (notice how the fan didn't want to reject Donghae when she was supposed to, poor Zhoumi)
(jump to 6:10)
dude's helluva romantic, but he's the typical ideal romantic dreamer, he doesn't seem to be able to execute his ideas once he's in front of his lady xD plans too much, gets nervous and spazzes out lol
Haven't watched it yet but I wouldn't be surprised if he did arrange all that himself. This is the guy who wants to take his girlfriend to Han River in a car, and then whack out a microphone and start singing to her. Boy is romantic.
IA that Donghae is romantic and he is so cute too.. But this date was obviously not planned by him.. he doesn't even drink alcohol and u could tell, so imo it was done by the production team... I hope this was his last episode in this show, cause it was cringeworthy :/
thanks for sharing. that was a super adorable episode. i liked the waltz & tango to the music of the orchestra. teukie and sora are so comfortable now.donghae is adorkable and match well with eun seo.
Are they trying to make those other 2 an official couple? I know that Teuk and Sora aren't going to last long because of their schedules so I wouldn't be surprised....But this couple is ridiculously boring and their awkwardness isn't even cute, just irritating. :\
I think they were trying to make all four Fighting Junior members official couples, but just never got around to it because of the worker's strike at MBC.
They had only shot footage of Donghae and Eunseo's date all in one day and split it among three episodes.
I think they were planning to have a story arc of: Teukie/Sora needed help from their brothers in law, Fighting Junior (Hyuk, Minnie, Hae, and Kyu) and their reward for helping TeukSora was a blind date. The blind date happened, everyone got paired and the first couple to get filmed was Hae and Eunseo (probably because the writers felt bad for making fun of Hae so much as Man Number #3 in the earlier episodes of WGM). Or they had always been planning to put Donghae in the show because everyone remembered him as Man#3.
But I guess I don't feel the same way as you do. They were only on one "date" that happened to span three episodes and I remember TeukSora's first few episodes were just as awkward too, but idk, I'm one of those that like to watch awkward moments, especially if they make me laugh and for some reason the Suju guy's adorkableness make me happy.
I agree though that Donghae and Eunseo need more spark. As of right now, most of the humor is coming from TeukSora+Donghae and Eunseo's just kinda wondering what craziness she's stepped into. But re-watching the earlier episodes of WGM, Fighting Junior+Teukie were also the ones creating the most humor and Sora was also just kinda wondering what the crazy did she step into too xD
I'm hoping for Donghae's sake, if they're continuing the show and planning to keep the Donghae/Eunseo coupling, that they allow Eunseo's true personality to show. During the blind date, she seemed to have a lot of spirit and fight in her (kickboxing hello! bowling pro hello! not afraid of roller coasters hello!) that she seemed to be suppressing with her date with Donghae. If they can get her true personality out, it'll be a lot of fun to watch her interactions with Donghae. Right now, at times, while I think it's cute, charming and romantic, it does feel like the show's all about Donghae needing to pull out all the stops to "impress" her and I think Eunseo might be the type of girl that would rather enjoy a good old hamburger and a low key romantic date.
At any rate, I think it's interesting how these last few Donghae/Eunseo and TeukSora episodes have been drawing divisive reactions. Either people hate the awkardness or they love it and find it adorable. Very intriguing.
I love watching Donghae on WGM. when he was with the Sujummas, they kept making fun of him as Guy/Man Number 3 and when he was on the blind date, he was still Guy/Man Number 3
Now that he's paired with Eunseo, I love all his interactions with Teukie and Sora. My reaction: Why are you so awkwardly adorkable?! I wanna squish you!
Then there are moments when he's in a suit, or when he was fierce dancing the tango, or when he brough out flowers on the blind date that I'm slayed like:
How can one man be adorable and sexy at the same time? Idon'tgetit.
But I'm hoping since they had the blind date, it looked like they had planned to put all four couples as main couples once Teukie *sob* has to enlist. They're so much fun when all the suju boys are put together one room. It's chaos and hilarity. I love their bromance.
But with the workers strike and everything .... they have no footage. All the Donghae/Eunseo footage was shot in one day :(
seriously I stop watching Teukso after Donghae's whole blind date thingy. it's not that I dislike Donghae and/or Eunseo, I just prefer to watch Teukso interacting instead of acting as matchmakers
There are still some moments that make me cringe so badly watching Donghae on this show but he was sweet and funny to watch for most of it and tbh Leeteuk and Sora were hilarious while they were watching the date!! Maybe they should just join the rest of the gang in the studio lol...no, but then we might miss out on them doing the tango rofl!!!

I still can't forget this (at 1:16 - holy crap I miss beast-mode Donghae):
