KUALA LUMPUR: The Korean wave hit the nation’s capital hard as K-Pop princesses Girls’ Generation rocked the Twin Towers @Live 2012 concert.

The South Korean pop group entertained thousands of fans on a specially constructed stage at KLCC, with the majestic Petronas Twin Towers as the stunning backdrop.

The crowd went wild for Girls’ Generation as they performed some of their biggest hits such as Run Devil Run, The Boys and Hoot.

Die-hard K-Pop fans sang along to the mostly Korean songs, enlivening the city centre with their loud vocals.



Also performing at the first of the two-day free-for-all concert, held in conjunction with the Malaysian GP, was former Pussycat Dolls’ lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.

She got the crowd to jump up and dance to some of her catchy songs from her solo album.

Top local artistes James Baum, Reshmonu, Elecoldxhot, DJ Nadine and DJ Prem added some Malaysian flavour to the star-studded concert and had the audience going with their energetic performances throughout the night.

Orianthi, the rock guitarist sensation who was selected as Michael Jackson’s lead guitarist for his This Is It tour in 2009, will continue the party at the same venue tonight.

She will be rocking the stage with international R&B star Kelis. Also scheduled to perform are Faizal Tahir and DJ Nikki.

I Skyped my Malaysian friend (who went to the concert) the day after the concert and she was like,

"ASDFGHJKL THEY'RE SO BEAUTIFUL IN REAL LIFE! ERSCTHYGVN YOONA'S LEGS, OMG! QWERTYUIOP TAEYEON SMILED AT ME, LIFE IS FINALLY COMPLETE! ZXCVBNM TIFANNY SO F**KING SEXY, I F**KING CAN'T! QAZXSWEDC I WANT YURI, DAMMIT! RFVBGTYHN THE MICROPHONES SUCKED! EVERYONE LOOKED SO PISSED OFF AND KEPT TRYING TO PRESS THE DAMN MICROPHONES ON THEIR MOUTHS! UJMKIOLP CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ALREADY OVER /SOBS!" 

And I'm sitting in front of my laptop, thinking loudly in my head, "B*TCH, AT LEAST YOU GOT TO SEE THEM IN REAL LIFE!" while she kept on crying about how it was over so quickly and sh*t.

Note: Yuri couldn't make it due to scheduling conflicts. And according to my friend, a good portion of the crowd left after SNSD performed (there's still many other artists, local and international, to perform after SNSD).

i was there yesterday. i know it's kinda rude to walk out before the concert ended but they were the concert's main attraction so after they finished, i left early too. teehee. guilty as charged!~

speaking of buying LRT tickets after the concert just reminds me about the nightmare i had yesterday. OMG seriously, after all the spazzing & happy feelings seeing the girls live, the worst case scenario happened while buying LRT tickets to get back home. the station was congested with fans and i had a really really hard time buying and i just want to forget all that. huhu it took me almost 2 hours to just get a ticket. woah nasty, i tell u!~ grr.

lmao, I never get why they put the main attraction as the middle or first few acts (common sense would have you put them at the end). I heard the organizers put Nicole Scherzinger as the main act? like really nobody was gonna turn up for her.

i think they had to put snsd early coz snsd is a pretty busy girlgroup and they have other schedules to attend too. right after their performance, they flied back to korea. their performance ended at 10.30pm and their flight back was at 11 something, if i'm not mistaken. so cannot hold them as last performer & i wouldn't want to be nicole scherzinger last nite too if given the chance, =3

i think the girls were surprised too with the crowd knowing tht the news about them coming to kl was so short noticed. but i can tell they were so proud and happy to be here esp fany. she was soo adorable and when she said 'finally we're here', the crowd went wild. the management paid them good, i guess. :)

I dunno but I think they were lucky they got to wear those in Malaysia. I believe night time in Malaysia is pretty warm and let's not forget that Malaysia is a muslim country. Not many foreign artists got to perform in Malaysia due to religious restriction. Revealing clothes are some of the cause of that.

lbr, their last few performances have been absolutely terrible. Sure the girls haven't been in a complete formation in a long time but the perfs are SO sloppy and half-arsed. They've already performed as 8 or 7 in the past but they were never this level of half-arsedness, let's not even mention them not knowing who was gonna cover/lipsync Yuri or any other missing member's parts.
I'm not sure if it's laziness or exhaustion but they need to put their act together quick, biggest Korean girlgroup or not, when you see SooYoung looking that sloppy after months of her, HyoYeon and SeoHyun saving the other girls' asses, there's something wrong.
