JYJ AND THE DELIRIOUS NIGHT OF KOREAN POP PHENOMENON IN LIMA

Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong performed for the first time in our country. 6000 fans were present.

The worldwide Kpop fever materialized in our country yesterday with the JYJ concert in explanda del estadio Monumental. Even when the Koreans Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong were not yet on stage, their fans were already out of control, wild and delirious with the passing minutes. “I will finally see my idols!” one exclaimed. “It’s my dream come true,” another almost sobbed.

RED EVENING BEGINS
The clock read 8:12 pm, and more than 6000 Cassiopeians (the name of fans of DBSK/JYJ) were deafening with their screams of “Kim Junsu, Park Yoochun, Kim Jaejoong, JYJ… fighting,” the shouts became almost an anthem for the young fans.

The stage, by then, forgotten its emptiness with “Empty”, a song from their English album “The Begnning”, and the trio finally appeared. Bright red lights among the audience (the color of the group) welcomed them.

Their tight costumes, voices, and choreography caused fury among those that were present. The most in unison during the night: the fanchants (chants exclusive for the shows) of songs like “Ayyy Girl”, “Pierrot”, “Be the One” and “Mission”.

SPANISH THAT ENAMORS
If they want to be sweet to their fans, they succeeded easily. Two phrases were enough: “En el Perú hay chicas muy lindas” (There are many pretty girls in Peru), “Te quiero” (I love you). The audience would be in their pocket, the euphoria.

During the show, Jaejoong was grateful for the kindness and love of their Peruvian fans and was surprised to see the band also have male followers. They all shouted “Saranghe” (I love you in Korean). He said that he would like to return to Peru.

That was not all. They also showed some videos of JYJ during their stay in Chile and Peru, including the “balconazo” at a Miraflores hotel

COLORS OF SOLOISTS
The evening continued its course, but suddenly the lights went out. It was time for the solos. Between the shouts and applauses came the melancholic Yoochun and singing of “I Love You”. Suddenly the bright red glow in the audience became blue and it kept changing.

What happened? One fan explained that when a group member sings his solo, the colors change: blue corresponds to Yoochun, green for Jaejoong, and pink for Junsu.

The second moved the audience to tears with “I’ll Protect You”, the themes song for a Korean drama “Protect the Boss”. After a moment of nostalgia, the last one went into action with his bold but elegant dance to the rhythm of “Intoxication”.

TURN OFF THE LIGHTS
They had already left, but with the relentless clamor of their fans, the singers returned to stage with a simple outfit and performed a remix of “Empty” and “Get Out”. Jaejoong even held a Peruvian flag in his hands.

At the end of the song, the groups members of JYJ said goodbye with “thank you” in Spanish. The lights of the stage were turned off, but the red color emitting from the lightsticks still lit up the place.

Slowly the lights died down in between the tears and smiles.

Crappy video but their smiles at our fighting totally worth it.

JYJ’S SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR: PERU AIRPORT PARALYSIS – 5,000 SEATS SOLD OUT

Peru Reporter on JYJ: “Amazing popularity, received even greater response compared to American Pop Stars”

On the 9th in Santiago, Chile JYJ spent a fantastic 2 hours with over 3000 fans at the ‘Teatro Caupolican’ stadium. This time, in Lima, Peru as well, JYJ received an enthusiastic welcome.

On the 11th, when JYJ arrived in Peru’s ‘Jorge Chavez’ airport, they caused a state of paralysis at the airport. (There were so many fans.) At the airport there were around 3,000 people surrounding the airport that were JYJ fans, screaming for JYJ—verifying the amount of positive response from fans. JYJ’s management CJES said “Upon arriving at the airport, there were 10 airport staff with serious faces, telling us that for the safety of JYJ, all the staff had to go through VIP exit-way. A staff further said that considering the situation at that given time, greeting fans was an inconceivable situation. He said that Peruvian fans were willing to follow JYJ’s vehicle on their motorcycles or via mini-busses.

Before the concert, on the 10th, JYJ held a press conference at the Marriot Hotel. El Comercio, TV Peru, etc, a total of 30 national newspapers and broadcasters attended, showing the hot coverage for JYJ’s visit in Peru. In the large square in front of the hotel where the press conference was taking place, 2000 fans gathered.  Traffic was blocked and the police were called in. In answer to the reporters’ question of whether they had expected this high popularity in Peru, JYJ said, “It’s surprising. We were surprised in Chile too but we couldn’t imagine that we were this popular in Peru. It’s surprising and amazing that we can see the image that we could see in Asia in South America. We feel thankful and also sorry that we could only come to see them just now because of the long distance. We must return that long wait with good performances.” When asked what they thought as K-pop leaders, they expressed their high expectations, “The word ‘first’ itself is thrilling. However, since this is the place that we, as representative of Korea, take the first step in, the responsibility is big. We must finish the concert successfully. We’ll create wonderful memories in Peru before going back to Korea.”

Miritza llanos of Peruvian leading newspaper El Comercio said, “They were welcomed much more than U.S pop stars. There is about 30.000 K-pop fans in Peru and most of them are JYJ’s fans. In Peru, JYJ’s music is not just at mania level but is mainstream pop music. JYJ’s music can be heard everywhere in Peru.”

VICTOR (the promoter) stated, “In comparison with the tour concerts of U.S pop stars like Britney Spears, the reaction is much greater. All the local staff were surprised by their popularity. Even after the press conference, the reporters still held their cameras, on standby.”

After the press conference, JYJ had a fan greeting from the 4th floor balcony of the hotel. The fans cheered and shouted Koreans words such as ‘JYJ I love you. Thank you, Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu!’ JYJ expressed their feelings, “We felt like we were the princes. We were unspeakably touched when we came out in the balcony and saw our fans filling the space in front of the hotel. We’re happy and thankful that there are many fans who love our music in Peru. Tomorrow we’ll deliver a great concert in order to return this enthusiastic welcome.”

In addition, JYJ’s Peruvian fans made a special advertising bus. A week before the concert, they began to camp outside the Explanada Sur del Estadio Monumental concert hall. Hundreds of tents could be seen near the entrance. A JYJ fan, Camila Gonzales (23), said, “I have come here since Thursday and have been queuing up. It’s hard to belive that I’m going to see JYJ. It’s such a miracle that they came here and will sing. I don’t know if I’m breathing properly. It’s like a dream and I can’t stop crying.”

Meanwhile, all 5000 seats for JYJ concert in Peru were sold out and an additional 1000 tickets were also quickly sold out. JYJ’s management company, C-JeS Entertainment said, “This concert of JYJ is the first concert of a Korean artist in South America. It’s not a concert of many artists from a company but a solo concert of the artist, which is very meaningful. The concert was held at Lima’s Explanada Sur del Estadio Monumental, which is located in the second-largest football stadium in South America. Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas, Avril Lavigne…all held concerts there before.”

120315 JYJ CONCERT IN PERU, PERUVIAN JYJ FAN'S EXTREME EXCITEMENT: "NO TE VAYAS!"

The very first genuine World Tour of Korean artist JYJ has come to an end with a splendid finale in Lima, Peru. Last weekend, JYJ has performed a perfect two-hour concert in front of 6,000 South American fans at Estadio Monumental stadium. By the end of the concert, passionate Peruvian fans who had been camping-out for over a week showed their extreme excitement over JYJ while chanting “No te vayas!” (Don’t go!).

In the morning of the concert’s day, news about JYJ’s concert was reported exclusively by most Peruvian media. Major media in Peru including daily newspaper ‘El comercio’, ‘El Men’, ‘Peru 21’ , ‘OJO’, ‘Correo’ etc all competed to cover the news as fast as possible. JYJ member Park Yoochun said in the press conference, “The huge crowd at the airport and in front of the hotel surprised me. I didn’t know that such phenomenon which I am able to see in Asia could even reach South America. I am really happy and I will give a great performance in return.” Later, many news headlines reported “To the group JYJ, the crowd in Peru is incredible”, proving once again JYJ’s popularity in Peru.

2 hours before the concert, thousands of South American fans already arrived to the concert venue. There were not only Peruvian fans but also fans from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Paraguay and other South American countries. They all brought a flag of their own country and JYJ banner with them. Rossa Paradense (18) expressed her deep emotion,”JYJ is my whole life. After knowing them, my life has changed completely. Whenever JYJ’s song starts playing, my heart seems to stop beating.”

JYJ’s performance at their World Tour concert finale was perfect. They heated up the energetic South American fans by dance songs with strong beat, such as ‘Empty’, ‘Ayyy girl’, ‘Be the one’, and ‘Mission’. At the peak of the shuffle dance in ‘Get out’ remix, it was reported that 10 fans fainted and were taken out. Moreover, JYJ’s amazing singing ability in ‘In heaven’ and ‘Fallen leaves’ received big cheer and applause from the fans. While cheering for the encore stage, the audience all chanted ‘No te vayas JYJ!’ (Don’t go, JYJ!) as tears were falling down their faces.

Carolina Mehia (22) shared her feeling after the concert “They are too perfect. They don’t seem to be human. They took my soul away. I still don’t believe that I have seen them.”

Cecilia Rohase (27) said “I want to feel what JYJ feel during the concert so as soon as I heard they would come to Peru, I memorized and understood all lyrics of their songs. I sang along with JYJ through the whole concert. I really want to go to Korea in the future.”

Starting with concert held in Thailand last April, JYJ’s world tour stopped by not only Asia but also North America and Europe then ended successfully in two South American countries. The success of JYJ’s World Tour was amazing. Not only are they the first Korean artist who successfully hold an arena-level concert with more than 10,000 in North America, they are also the first Korean artist to successfully hold exclusive concerts in Spain, Berlin, Chile and Peru.

CJeS Entertainment’s representative Baek Changjoo said “The World Tour were feasible because they are JYJ. It is amazing that their popularity is great enough for them to hold exclusive concert in any country in the world. Now we already had the confidence and the know-how. That’s the reason why we are expecting to hold another tour next year”. “Of course JYJ’s world tour left behind both successes and challenges. The primary factor of our success is rather than entrusting the concert to the executive; we went to each country to grasp the market situation first then deliberated on the best scheme. Moreover, at every concert, after arriving to the country, we filmed JYJ as they were experiencing the culture of that country and showed the video at the bridge time of the concert as a gift in order to improve the communication with the fans. Of course we faced some challenges too. How to extend long-term interactions with fans in each country and how to distribute officially our records to fans in Europe and South America are our number one concerns. We will try our best to make everything perfect in the next tour”, he expressed his hopes.

During a year, in total 15 cities, JYJ concerts attracted 210,000 fans, achieved high sales of more than 80% on average, set tickets sales record and sold out in 12 cities. For the time being, JYJ are concentrating on composing songs and their individual activities. They plan to release their second English album in the latter half of this year.

JYJ’S YOOCHUN GIFTS STAFF WITH SNEAKERS

JYJ's Yoochun recently showed his generosity by gifting his entire staff team with sneakers!

On March 13th, fellow member Junsu shared on his Twitter, “We went into the ‘Adidas’ store. Our Crown Prince told each of us to pick a pair of sneakers. I picked one out as fast as possible. He looked at me and said he didn’t mean me. I stood my ground and stared back. He finally agreed and let me get sneakers too. Crown Prince.”

With Yoochun in the middle, his staff pose as a group while holding up blue bags containing their new sneakers. You can spot a blonde haired Junsu in the back, which makes the picture even funnier considering the behind story he revealed for his fans.

Talk about amazing, free advertisement for Adidas!

Netizens commented, “Yoochun oppa, buy me some, too,” “The total must’ve come out to over a thousand bucks,” and “Junsu is adorable!”

In related news, Yoochun’s upcoming drama, "Rooftop Prince" is awaiting its pilot episode on March 21st

This seems like a really smart idea. I'd totally love to see that kind of footage at a concert.

I'm so glad that their tour went so well - and can actually be called a world tour!

I'm so happy that it was so succesful, and the boys are really glowing in all the pictures it makes me proud <3

i really hope if they do another world tour, i'll be able to watch them live this time ;__; (major bad timing with me being in asia when they came to europe, and them back in asia whe i was back in europe:()

somehow the pictures of them standing there, smiling and flashing peace signs comes off as so bittersweet to me :l they looked so happy and then faced a huge loss when they came back. my poor boys. i hope nothing but good things will come their way now, stay strong <3

XDDD Oh Junsu. I can just imagine him having that stare-down with Chun and looking all like "hyuuuuuuung, Spoil meeeee!!!" Lol. If he didn't, I have a feeling JJ would've splurged on him.

As for the article, I am forever proud of how much success these guys have earned in lieu of their challenges. Get it get it JYJ. (that should be a fanchant)

Hate to admit it but it wouldn't have been near as great if it had been in Brazil instead. Hopefully someday I'll be able to see them somewhere else though.

From: [identity profile] oldwillow-brook.livejournal.com
Why do you say that? What would you think would have happened?

Date: 2012-03-18 08:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] siaht.livejournal.com
Lack of organization, to begin with. They'd probably have gotten a smaller venue as well, and I don't think as many fans would show up. Basically the same reasons why Beast is not coming back.

Date: 2012-03-18 09:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] oldwillow-brook.livejournal.com
That's interesting! Why do you think it would have been disorganized? Is that what the Beast concert was like?

I would never have thought Brazil was less popular location, especially since Brazil has quite a large Korean population (at least that's why my friend tells me)

Date: 2012-03-18 09:42 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] siaht.livejournal.com
Ah that's just how things are here. It was downright hellish when MBLAQ was here, and when CUBE came it seemed to be a lot better, but still not nearly as good as it should've imo.

The problem here is that the tickets are always overpriced and I don't even think that's the artists' companies fault. Plus, with how big the country is, even if there are many fans as a whole, they can hardly afford paying for the tickets and travelling to São Paulo where the concerts usually are, or even coming from the country side of the state to the capital. The Asian population at the capital of São Paulo is large but I'm assuming most of the fans can't afford the tickets. I know I can't lol

Date: 2012-03-18 09:22 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] na-jin-br.livejournal.com
I think Beast's venue was basically the same size? I still don't know how many people went to the concert. I read people saying it was around 5k? idk.
Anyway, I do agree, I don't think there would be as many people going. Everyone is waiting for SM.

Date: 2012-03-18 09:46 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] siaht.livejournal.com
I have no idea since I didn't attend United Cube lol And I heard that was the total attendance as well.

You're probably right about that. If I had to choose I think I'd end up choosing SMTOWN too >> I don't see it happening anytime soon though, unless it's at the end of the year.

Date: 2012-03-18 09:50 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] na-jin-br.livejournal.com
Well, I don't think 5k is not enough people, especially since it's not one of the great acts like SJ, SNSD or Big Bang.
I think SM is done with SMTown, if we get anything it will be SS4, which I'm praying so hard for.

The Chile concert looked so much more AMAZING in comparison to their other shows. I have no idea why!

Okay I do, maybe cause of Intoxication and the Get Out Remix and Ayyy Girl ballad, which was flawwwwlessssss.

AH JYJ. Keep conquering the world!

I think the crowds in Chile and Peru were really eye opening for them. Traveling, having delays and then the audience reaction to their songs and in a country they've never even thought of promoting in? Makes a lot of sense.

I don't think they were expecting the outcome they got. And I think JYJ really liked Chile and Peru. I haven't seen fancams from Peru but in Chile the crowd was super respectful and was really just as excited to be there as JYJ was.

I'm sure the change of pace for songs really made the difference as well. I think they start and end with the same songs but changing "I can Soar" to Intoxication sure as hell made Junsu happy 8DD

It seems like the concerts in South America really were well thought through and organised, I liked the fact they filmed the boys as they arrived so they had something interesting to show for the concerts, that was a lovely touch. And wow those were some dedicated fans!
