Saw this and was generally annoyed by all the chauvanism. Joon was my happy spot (even though he finally gave in and said he it would be nice if the mom was pretty). The whole search for the mom was a waste of time, and the babies seemed bored to tears. I watched this episode before the last 10 minutes were subbed, but from what I saw, contestant #1 would make the best omma. She was the only one who actually had a performance geared toward the children. Well...that's not true. Contestant #2 just sucked at hers lol. But #1 came prepared with snacks and was able to gear her actions toward the kids. I don't know wtf the others were thinking doing ballet and sexy/cute dances.
I found it interesting the babies all picked #3, but I suppose that shows how overwhelmed they feel with the Korean culture. They probably want a new perspective closer to their own. If she hadn't done the sexy dance, I might've picked her too.
Finally, Dayoung was an absolute cutie in this one. I love that she spoke with the candidates easily. Also Joon with the babies was <3 (can you tell my bias?) Joon and Mir had me cracking up with they dragged that table onstage to oggle at that lady though lol. Mir always gets me to laugh at some point. XD
I would've picked either #1 or #3, but I think you're confusing #3 with #5? #5 was the one who did a really awkward ~sexy dance. #3 just danced to T-ara's "Roly Poly", which is a pretty inoffensive dance.
No I meant #3. I knew it was a girl group dance, but when it's a dance that doesn't actually show off dancing skills it's only purpose is to be a cute dance or a sexy dance. I suppose cute would've been the better word to use, but my point was the same. It was a performance that had nothing to do with the kids. I didn't find it offensive like with #5. I just thought it was pointless except to show Mblaq how attractive she was.
Yeah - only #1 and #2 tried to appeal to the kids in their performances. The rest of the candidates, yeah, were just putting themselves on display for MBLAQ. Which is pointless, but I guess it's the nature of reality television. (15 minutes of fame and all that.)
I'm still rooting a little bit for #3, maybe superficially because she's also biracial, but Dayoung seems to like her too.
I've only watched the first six episodes, but god, G.O is such a douche. He really doesn't deserve Dayoung's love imo. I wish she'd bonded with Joon or Thunder.
Yeah, everyone else seems to be more perceptive to Dayoung than G.O which is really sad because she adores him and he's so clueless. She should abandon G.O for Joon tbh.
Ia, but I've seen comments on episode 8 and Dayoung is apparently slowly changing her cap towards Joon so maybe, byt the end of it, the prodigy child will see the light ^^.
Yeah, I feel that way about him too. (I was so sick of him saying that the umma must be pretty and that he's glad they're getting one because she can do the chores.)
When everyone was leaving the judging tables in this episode, Daeyoung was still sitting there and all G.O did was pat her head and walk away. Like seriously? Come one dude, be a better appa. So glad Seungho stepped up (like he always does) and motioned for her to come with him.
Seriously, the only guys who bother to bond with the children are Seungho, Joon and Thunder. Seungho and Thunder seem to stick mainly with their chosen children though, whereas Joon makes the effort with all three, and I appreciate that. G.O is just... ugh. He has no depth or introspection at all, from what I can tell, it seems like he takes Dayoung for granted.
Also, having watched this episode, I was thoroughly annoyed by the unrealistic standards they were placing on the prospective umma. Like, I get that it's variety and you have to emphasize shallow qualities, but seriously. I also got annoyed when they judged Umma #3 for lying on her back for all of a few seconds (when Dayoung went to the bathroom with Umma #4), considering that they've done the same in every episode. Um, guys? This woman has made more progress with Dayoung in the span of a few hours than you have in weeks. I'm looking at you, G.O.
Yeah, but at the same time with umma #3, she should know that she is being judged so they can pick the "best" umma. I side eyed her too. Laying down doesn't make a good impression. I really only think she was picked as a candidate because she's biracial too. Her performance only seem geared toward herself. The kids wouldn't care about Roly Poly, and the guys weren't impressed either.
idk I really didn't see her lying down as that big of a deal - it's a few seconds out of hours of footage, I imagine, and she looked like she was stretching/waiting for Dayoung to come back. It was either that or compete with three other girls already playing with Leo.
And lol most of the candidates' performances were geared to showing off their talents. Only Umma #1 incorporated the kids into it, and Umma #2 tried, but failed spectacularly. If they were picking an Umma candidate based on performance and skills alone, they would've discarded everyone but #1. It's a silly contest anyway, since ultimately it's how well they get along with the kids that matters most.
Meh, still not sold on the mother idea (glad the PDs or something took note) but seeing Dayoung having fun with them was so cute. So she's not that shy, just terrified of male adults!
I really hope they steer the show back to its original course and focus on Mblaq and the kids. There aren't many episodes left and I don't want the remaining ones to be filled with the mother they chose.
IKR? I'd rather see just the boys with the kids and them going back to that specialist periodically. Sadly the person who's been uploading the show said they won't be subbing episode 8.
I felt so bad for Joon when one of the prospective ummas said he was the worst appa. Boo. >:|
I LOVED the child psychologist. They don't need a mother, they need to learn how to manage the kids better and she can help with that. Having a mother won't solve their problems. What they want is essentially a maid.
Did she say why? Abmsubs will probably continue subbing which is a good thing since it's more accurate anyway.
I don't think he'd take her comment to heart, after all Hyorin did say she thought he'd make the best appa :D But I guess the little things Joon does gets overshadowed and people deem him a bad appa just because he doesn't come across as very fatherly :\
Seriously, Joon as the worst appa and G.O. as the best? Makes me wonder how many aired episodes the prospective moms had seen. If it was only the first one or two episodes I could understand, but gosh G.O. is like the most pointless everrr.
Episode 6 was a cuteness explosion of kittens in rainbows in my heart -- why is everything suddenly so boring? :(
So she's not that shy, just terrified of male adults!
I thought that too, and I have to wonder why if that the case. Although Seungho did make a good point that maybe they helped Daeyoung open up to new people. Could be either I guess.
I was so annoyed by "pretty". I mean, I guess since it's a show, they just want to hang out with a hot chick.... but seriously..... being pretty is not a requirement for good parenting.
MBLAQ are variety pros, so I wasn't offended because I was pretty sure they were just trying to be funny. Kinda FAILING, but not seriously wanting someone just because she's pretty. I think at some point one of them said diffidently, "...we were just saying, but it would be nice if she was pretty..."
I like moms 1 & 3, but I don't like the reason they want a mom. They basically want one to clean and be pretty. They don't need that. They all sounded shallow in this entire episode except for Joon until he finally said a pretty mom would be nice, but that's probably because all the other members kept saying it. I was extremely put off tbh. Also I want Dayoung to turn her affections towards Joon because GO is pretty much useless. All in all this was a pretty bad and boring episode.
Lol I love how Seungho was silently side-eyeing so bloody hard the rest of the band for talking over and over about how pretty the mom should be and she was going to be their wife.
Seungho, you are forever cool and awesome.
Lol at Dayoung and her " NO EYE MAKE UP!". That was so cute and GO is totally not understanding the kid or anything. It's a quiet disaster but well, he must be pleasant enough since she likes him :).
Seungho carrying sometimes Lauren.... that's very pretty knowing that he was probably in pain the all time. Leo and Mir is just wonderful XD.
OMG THE DRESSES! Sue the company girls SUE THEM! Leo was here for the confettis tbh. Manager looks kinda cute ^^.
Gosh GO shut the hell up. Doing the chores? why don't you buy a nice and sparkly vacuum?
Really liked umma n°1. She had such a bright and conforting smile. And she seemed competent which is not surprising since she's a kindergaten teacher. Joon's socks need a show for themselves. It's quite interesting that all the kids picked umma n°3.
