SNSD has biggest song for first half of 2009

SNSD's Gee swept KBS2TV's Music Bank show as the biggest song for the first half of 2009. Being SNSD's 10th first place finish for the show, it gathered attention for its longevity in popularity.

On the 26th, at the KBS Hall in Seoul Yeoido, KBS2TV's Music Bank held its mid-year special, with SNSD's Gee taking the first place prize. Following SNSD's first place wins on January 16th, 23rd, 30th, February 6, 13th, 20th, 27th, March 6th, and the 13th, this was their tenth win for them. In tears, SNSD's Sooyoung said "Thank you so much. We just want to say thank you to all the fans that waited for us."

This was an even more special performance for SNSD because it was also their comeback performance for their new mini album. Gathering attention with first their album jacket pictures and then their music video, they captured and held the attention of netizens for the days leading up to their performance. On this day, their spectacular leg choreography especially garnered attention from those watching.

This episode of Music Bank featured SNSD's comeback performance for their second mini album "Tell me your wish", Super Junior's last performance for their third album, and the popular Son Dambi, Lim Changjung, Shinee, K-Will, Davichi, Baek Jiyoung, and Jo Sungmo, together with the shining newcomers 2NE1, Chunglim, Taegoon, and AJ.
