I wish they had that kind of popularity tbh. They're more popular in Japan since they mostly performed there and lived in Japan for a while. Korea seems to ignore them for some reason...
No one is as ignored yet still promoting in Korea as my U-Kiss bbs. 99% of companies would have considered them flops by now. At least CNBLUE have gotten #1s for their songs and in their first few weeks of debut too.
It's only a strong international fanbase. I think they're still thought of as nugus by most people in Korea. Gah, just look at Chief Kiss. They could hardly find anyone who wanted to come to their restaurant, but let's say if it was Infinite's restaurant...many people would line up to eat there.
For some reason Infinite seems pretty new to me. And everytime I see their logo I go "Wow K8". How long have U-kiss been active? Maybe they just need more time.
U-Kiss debuted in August 2008 while Infinite debuted in June 2010. I know there are other current artists that took a long time to reach #1 too, but I just don't like to see U-kiss practically failing at something they're working so, so hard at. Neverland was so great it more than deserved to win, but because they were promoting as the same as other more popular groups, like Super Junior, they never did.
but cnblue did well in Korea their physical albums and digital sales are really good instead of relying on their fan bases( which are not huge in number), public in korea love them and bought their stuff their fans are mostly adult..most are 20 and above recently one 82 years old granny went to their fanmeeting in taiwan
That's success though not popularity. However success is better than popularity imo. But when it comes to "are they idol?" or "do they have idol popularity?" the answer is no. I don't know if one can really talk about "fan" in the k-pop/j-pop sense with them. They have an "audience". Or at least it is how I see it.
It's criminal that guys with this kind of live talent that put so much feeling into their instruments as well as their voices don't get to show that in Korea...well, they do but only VERY rarely. Thank you Japan for letting them shine and for actively promoting true live performances and celebrating talent ♥
I absolutely adored this version of In my head!!! And Teardrops in the rain almost had me in tears myself it was so beautiful.
I can even forgive the sometimes terrible Engrish because right now I don't care, I just love CNBlue and their sound and the way they make their music touch my heart :o)
just stumbled across Lie a coupla days ago and i'm hooked.. been repeating it ever since. jonghyun has such a nice smooth voice- seems like all the jonghyuns the world over has great voices lol
lol, why didn't I realize it was in English until a few minutes in? I'm so dumb =_= Anyways, they did AMAZING. On a side note. Minhyuk. (that's all ^^)
CNBLUE was simply amazing here. My bb Jungshin rocked the bass; I couldn't have asked for anything better. I loved when Yonghwa's face lit up after he did the "yow!" part in "Let's Go Crazy. Can Jonghyun make a lullaby album in Korean (the language he's best at)? I'd listen to that thing EVERY NIGHT. There wasn't enough Minhyuk; when is there ever enough of a drummer?
Why are people so surprised, minus Title tracks CNblue are heavily involved in the composition of the music and the lyrics. They're pretty much a band and as good as any other with two great vocals.
lol ODG I started crying about 3 minutes in, they sound so /good/ Yonghwa has been sounding smoother much like Jonghyun does and it's killing me augh ;o; ♥
Great job being the first Korean band on MTV Unplugged , I am so proud. ;~~~~; ♥ ♥
