2PM‘s Junho recently traveled to Ethiopia to do some charity work.

On February 15th, Humanitarian Organization World Vision reported that they have launched ‘Global Share Project‘ in collaboration with EBS.

2PM’s Junho was selected as the first person to volunteer with ‘Global Share Project’ and sacrificed his first vacation in four years since his debut. He opted to travel to Ethiopia last month to spend some meaningful time with the locals.

Junho met with patients suffering from ‘elephantitis’, a rare from of skin disease and delightfully sang and danced with them. Junho has also been secretly supporting a child in Ethiopia who he got to meet in person, even presenting his adopted child a special gift.

Other than Junho, there were also a number of Indie bands from the Hongdae area who visited Zambia, Africa. Harim, Attic Moonlight, and more sang songs for children suffering from polio and malnutrition, planting some hope into their hearts. They also sang a song which they personally wrote and composed for the children, touching the hearts of the local people.

The first episode of Junho’s Ethiopia visit will air via EBS on February 27th at 10:40PM KST.

Oh my god, crying at how skinny and tiny these children are :'(. That Korean woman had a D: look on her face as if she was alarmed at the same thing.

The charity work in an exotic locale is something that often makes me skeptical as to how sincere they are, but the fact that he's been sponsoring a child for a while and never used it definitely deserves kudos. Also sympathy for any idol not getting a decent vacation, even if he gave up his voluntarily.

This. I'm pretty sure World Vision is a Christian organization, which just makes things even more sketchy for me.

Ah, there our opinions diverge, 'cause I don't know why them being Christian makes them sketchy...? Their mission statement even includes "We serve all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender." :)

Christian missionary organizations have been known to convert natives promising them food and etc (things they need to survive). Therefore I'm wary of religions that encourage missionary actions.

Fair enough, that's super-sketch. Missionary actions are supposed to be about sharing your religion, not extorting people into it. >.< Well, credit where credit's due, Christian organizations also do a lot of good. I'm glad Junho is affiliated with a reputable group. ^^

If given the choice between having to attend some bible studies yet being able to give my kids food or dying alltogether, I'd pick the former.

I'm not Christian or any of its related affiliations, but people who grow up in privilege (myself included) can often underestimate the power of such raw poverty. Organized religions frequently have a lot of money, and if they can use a large portion of it to help people who have none, then good.

I usually side eye celeb charity visits, but I am encouraged when it's just a public showing of things they've done in private.

Same. I also side-eye when companies go out of their way to say 'hey look what x did'. It feels like it takes out the sincerity of it because they just want the good publicity.

Dang, not an easy decision to make, but one I definitely commend.

On a separate note, I love the fact that Junho's been so vocal about the plight of abandon animals, an issue that I've been passionate about for many years. Love him!

This seems like a really good project, hopefully it will raise awareness and more support for those in need. I know World Vision have done a lot of good work around the world and it's so good to hear of Junho's involvement (especially considering it was at the cost of his time off) and his support in the past of the child he's been sponsoring :o)

A male fan once said to him, "Hyung you're so cool, I love you" or something to that effect and he told them "Love should be shared between a man and a woman" and since then omona has been on his case.

I think there was another incident too but, I can't remember it at the moment.

The other incident was when an openly-gay celebrity (I forgot his name) asked for Junho to if they could be friends, and Junho replied 'I don't think I can do that, hyung.'

Junho seems like a genuinely good person to me though

Adorable! <3

A man who gives back and isn't only concerned with himself seems so much hotter to me than one who doesn't (yes, English is supposedly my first language :p I'm working on a morphology assignment with *Georgian verbs* right now, and my first language skills are FAILING ME).

Basically, having seen this pics...Junho could get it.
