The Finn’s Lee Hyang Ik has regained a bit of consciousness after being in a coma for the past two weeks.
On January 30, Lee, a Hongdae-based indie band guitarist, was heading home when he was rear-ended by another car. He was unconscious by the time the paramedics arrived and was immediately transported to a general hospital in Sanggye-dong.
In a recent phone conversation with enews, a spokesperson from the band’s agency, Ruby Salon, said, "Lee Hyang Ik has finally opened his eyes. Although he hasn′t fully regained consciousness, there was movement in his fingers and we remain optimistic that his condition will improve."
A doctor at the hospital stated, “A non-severe brain hemorrhage was found during the examination but Lee had no other noticeable external injuries. We can’t identify the exact cause of his unconsciousness but we will continue to monitor his condition.”
The Finn, composed of Lim Jang Hyeon and Lee Hyang Ik, has released three albums, which include Beatles over Zeppelin and Album of the Year. The band′s February schedule has been put on hold while Lee recovers from his coma.
