INFINITE
At first glance, they are not a group you can call “handsome”. But once they stand on stage, their excellent vocals and group dance of 99.9% synchro-rate shines, and it’s hard for people to tear their eyes away.
When they’re off stage, their relationship is exceptionally close. The members’ personalities are also very unique. The more you understand, the more you think they are a group, equipped with charms and variety in their music.

Sunggyu
Born on 28/4/1989. 178cm. Blood type A.
Even though he said, “I’m the leader because I’m the oldest”, he also said, “If it weren’t for me, Infinite wouldn’t be established”. These aren’t just words that he can casually say, instead, they’re Infinite’s pillar of support. When they won 1st on a music program, beside the members who were crying, he left a strong impression of holding back his tears and paying gratitude to others. In terms of music, he’s the main vocalist that supports Infinite. “In 2011, we released our first album in Korea; the title song also won 1st. The biggest event was our Japanese debut! Looking back, it was the best year that was filled with happy things.”

Woohyun
Born on 8/2/1991. 176cm. Blood type B.
“My girlfriends are my fans.” We heard that he’s the No.1 in fanservice in the idol world. During their Japanese activities, we’re often able to see him throwing different sized - big, medium and small - hearts to the fans. With this kind of service spirit and service language, he looks like a casual man but when it comes to passion and diligence in a song, he’s twice as hardworking as a normal person. As Infinite’s main vocal, he appeared on a critical program that judges singing ability, which many idols have gone on, «Immortal Song 2». “In 2011, the thing that I worked hard for was to give the fans more love. In 2012, you have to give me more and more love!”

L
Born on 13/3/1992. 180cm. Blood type O.
In charge of the visuals in Infinite. In July 2011, he acted as Jiu in the Japanese drama, «Jiu Police Criminal Investigation», together with Kuroki Meisa and Tabe Mikako, etc. Such a mysterious character caused his popularity in Japan to rise quickly. L himself also has a mysterious side; to quote others, he’s ‘an unbelievable gentleman’. While acting in his first drama, he appeared a foreign country’s program as well. Through such training, within the group, his Japanese abilities outshone that of the other members. “In Infinite, even though I’m not very mature, I tried my best and worked hard. In February 2012, we’d have our concert in Seoul, and I wish to master a new instrument for the solo performance segment~”

Sungyeol
Born on 27/8/1991. 180cm. Blood type B.
Self-proclaimed as the member ‘in charge of height in Infinite’. But, recently, it looks like he’s in charge of the humor?! Since Infinite’s debut, he’s been promoting as the ‘kid actor’; now he’s officially acting in «While You Were Sleeping». According to L-kun (T/N: -kun is a Japanese honorific, used by persons of senior status in addressing or referring to those of junior status, or by anyone when addressing or referring to male children or male teenagers) who took up the offer to act in a Japanese drama, he expressed his thoughts to his acting senior. “Acting in a 120-episode drama while carrying out «Be Mine» and «Paradise» promotions… Sungyeol, you worked hard. Physically, it was tough, and there were many difficult things as well. You’re able to stay strong, I love you!”

Hoya
Born on 28/3/1991. 178cm. Blood type AB.
‘Infinite’s dancing machine’, who is recognized by everyone. Normally, his sweat when putting his utmost effort into dancing, is very beautiful. The “scorpion dance”, which is the hop topic from «BTD»’s original formation is his idea. He likes hip-hop, and even when sleeping, he’s also listening to hip-hop. Together with Dongwoo, they write many of the rap lyrics for Infinite. As a Busan man, he doesn’t speak much but when he speaks with seriousness, his humor is hidden. “In 2011, the thing that I worked most hard on was practice. Even though we’ve been busy, as a singer, in order to grow, we spend a lot of time in the practice room.”

Dongwoo
Born on 22/11/90. 175cm. Blood type A.
He himself said, “On stage, I’m very excited, there’s nothing special.” Indeed, when he’s standing on stage, his neat dance and rap, even his sharp gaze excludes strong charisma. Even though he’s an artist, there’s also another side of him: off stage, he’s constantly wearing a gentle smile, worrying about the condition of the members’ health, self-proclaimed as ‘Infinite’s mother’. Infinite’s raps are also written by him. “In 2011, it was a memorable year whereby we, Infinite, won 1st for the first time. Personally, I worked very hard to write rap lyrics. There was a fruitful outcome so I’m happy.”

Sungjong
Born on 3/9/1993. 177cm. Blood type A.
The cute maknae who is constantly optimistic. His gentle voice is Infinite’s strong point. After you’ve seen him being interviewed, you’d understand, he’s constantly getting teased and joked by the older members, “Recently, he’s been in his rebellious phase,” the hyungs would say. No one likes girl group dances more than he does and when interviewed, he performed Wonder Girls’ new song, which he learnt quickly, and even the «Swan Lake». “In 2011, we kept having activities for the entire year and it was almost as if we didn’t have a break. I myself, also have to work hard because I think that the most important is to work hard in order to match the members’ teamwork.”

In 2011, when you talk about the most improved artist in Korea, it’s Infinite. They won 1st with the title song of their first official album, «Be Mine» that was released in September, and also with «Paradise» that was released in October. On 19th November, they fulfilled their Japanese debut with a single, «BTD». Their debut single managed to clinch a good result of 2nd place on the Oricon Daily Charts. From being «the Best» artist in Korea, they also managed to become «the Best» artist in Japan. They are catching on to their real selves in Japan.

— You were really active in 2011; you were the artists in Korea that rose the most quickly. At what point in time did you realize that you’ve become famous?
Woohyun: When we moved into our new dorm! Our environment became more comfortable and spacious, our meal money also increased. This is probably the biggest~ (laughs)
Sungyeol: When we’re performing on stage, the time when the audience (size) became larger and larger.
Sunggyu: As expected, I feel like we’ve become more busy than before. We understand that many people need Infinite, they are also screaming our name on many occasions. It’d be great if such situations could continue for a long time~
Dongwoo: A man needs to be busy.
Sunggyu: That’s right.

— Even though you’ve already debuted for about a year in Korea, compared to the debut times, who was the member that changed the most?
Sungyeol: Probably Woohyun. He’s good at talking now. Even up to now, he doesn’t know what ‘fear’ is. (laughs)
All: Hahahahaha~
Sungyeol: He speaks before the leader, and he’s able to show off his leadership skills more than the leader. (laughs) He grew a lot.
Woohyun: I actually think it’s Sungjong. Before, he’d delicately say “I don’t want it,” recently, he’s been saying “I don’t want it” with a strong attitude.
Sungyeol: Exactly, exactly, “I can’t take it anymore,” such things. He has also said, “Let me be alone” too.
Woohyun: When he’s angry, he’d bang on the car window, and it felt like the glass window was about to break.
Dongwoo: Now that everyone listens to Sungjong, Sungjong has already become boss.
Sungyeol: He’s changed.

— What explanation does Sungjong have regarding that?
Sungjong: Hitting the car window is when I’m feeling rather down. Such things happen when you have those feelings.
Woohyun: Because of his mood.
Sungjong: I can’t constantly treat the hyungs well; I have to occasionally show off my attitude.

— Sungjong, only saying it here, who is the most irresponsible in the group?
Sungjong: Ah~ Do you even have to ask??
Woohyun: It’s the end!
Sungjong: (looks at Woohyun and smiles)
All members: Hahahaha! (explodes into laughter)
Sungjong: I’m not really angry but I just wanted to occasionally rebut slightly.
Woohyun: Slightly? Compared to this, it’s really scary.

— Aiya, aiya, you’re riding on the east wind of popularity in Korea. Your popularity is also very hot in Japan after releasing your debut song, «BTD». What kind of content does this song express?
Sunggyu: There are many things that you can’t get and can’t fulfill, and there are many things that you have to do as well. Exchange these things for love. In this situation, not only can you use “love”, you can also exchange it for “dreams”.

— In the Korean lyrics, there are such contents of being unable execute the fulfillment of strong love.
Sunggyu: Regarding execution, Sungjong understands it better! Even though he’s still a kid, but after listening to stories about past loves, it feels like he had a lot of experience. (laughs) He understands execution very well.
Sungjong: Huhuhu~ (laughs)

— The main character of «BTD» views love in a forward and meaty (T/N: It’s most probably a metaphor, meaning aggressive) manner. What type do you think you are?
Hoya: I’m a junk food type.
Woohyun: I’m a cute prince type.
Sungjong: Compared to plants and meat (T/N: It’s most probably a metaphor as well, plant = gentle and meat = aggressive), I’m the aegyo type!
Dongwoo: When I don’t see my girlfriend, I’m a plant type, but when I see my girlfriend, I’m the meaty type.
Sunggyu: Meaty type, super~ meaty type
All: Kya!! How strong!
Woohyun: Sunggyu-hyung is a strong meaty type, he specialises in being tactful.
Sunggyu: My specialty is seduction (laughs). In terms of being in love, I’m forward, a type that’s very intense.
Woohyun: Mindful of finances, spending all (the money), a type like that, right?
Sunggyu: No! (laughs)
Sungjong: I’m very worried about Dongwoo-hyung. It feels like he’d get lied to.
All: Ah, very accurate.
Sungjong: Dongwoo-hyung is very innocent.
Woohyun: By the time he noticed it, he’s already become a type that brings his guarantor along (laughs). It feels like he’d entrust his finances and savings to another person. In 10 years, he’d find me and beg me, “Please lend me some money.” (laughs)

— Ah, that’s worrisome. We have to look after Dongwoo well (tears).
Woohyun: We live together; we’d look after him well, don’t worry.

— I want to listen to ; are there another members’ parts of the song that you’d want?
L: Sunggyu-hyung’s part in the chorus, because there’s an impact.
Hoya: I also think of Sunggyu-hyung’s “no no~” part.

— Sunggyu, you bribed everyone, right?
Sunggyu: It’s probably because I sing well, right? Yup. I want to try Hoya’s rap.
Woohyun: I also want to challenge rap; Dongwoo’s part is very good. If it was me, I could probably do it.
Dongwoo: I choose Woohyun’s part because it’s sexy (laughs).
Sungyeol: L-kun’s «探してる (tanshiteru)» part because I think I can sing it well.
Sungjong: Sunggyu-hyung’s parts.
Sunggyu: Eh? Isn’t it Woohyun’s parts?
Sungjong: Then, Woohyun-hyung’s parts.
Woohyun: What. It has to be your own thinking. Looking at the interview, it’s a very difficult question for Sungjong (laughs).
Sungjong: Because I didn’t think about it! I want to do the part that Woohyun-hyung does.

— Talking about Infinite, their selling point is when they debuted, their dance synchro-rate is 99.9%, then, what do you think is the incompetent 0.1%?
Sunggyu: Because of Sungjong, we’re unable to hit 100% (laughs). If we don’t~ check it well.
Sungjong: I’m sorry (cries). Apart from my incompetence, I work hard. Breaking through my own limits, in order to fulfill this target, I work hard.
Hoya: My incompetent part is probably my height (laughs).
Dongwoo: My sense of rhythm is lacking slightly (laughs). When I stand on stage, because I’m overly excited, I forget the next step so my footsteps aren’t competent.
Sungyeol: I think we can’t break through human limitations; we can’t eliminate that incompetent 0.1%.
L: I think that if it becomes 100%, we’d become conceited. 99.9% isn’t perfect. Hence, it’s a reason to work harder. Because our teamwork will never lose to another group’s. When the 7 of us stand on stage, it doesn’t feel like we’re 7 people but one single person instead. This is everyone becoming one. Therefore, I’m always thankful for the members.

On 19th November, Infinite, who debuted in Japan with «BTD», showcased their very first activity on the previous day, 18th November, at Kawasaki’s LAZONA - the Japanese version of «BTD», that was showcased first to about ten thousand people.

— How was your first activity in Japan like?
Hoya: Many people came and everyone’s passion was at its peak. Looking at the fans, we feel that we have to work even harder.

— From Kawasaki onwards, you also held events at Shibuya, Ginza and Yokohama. What’s the thing you have the biggest impression on?
Woohyun: Seeing people who were cosplaying our outfits.
Hoya: A little boy was holding onto a “Hoya” placard. After looking at that boy, I thought about the young me so I became very happy.
Sungyeol: At our first activity, there was a male L fan. After saying, “Even though I’m married, I really like L-kun”, he left.
L: That fan also came to our other events. When talking, I’m able to feel that he came to see me from a faraway place. During the break when the anchor was talking, he shouted “Kim Myungsoo!”, and the other guests around exploded into laughter (laughs).

— The fans have been waiting since the cold morning. Do you have any secret methods of staying warm in the winter?
Sunggyu: When it’s cold, it’s important to wear more. Then, eat something hot.
Woohyun: Hug me, I’ll bring you warmth (laughs).
Sungyeol: Because of the fans’ love, we’re able to feel warmth.
Dongwoo: It’s good to dance, singing while dancing, spending it together with the members, we naturally feel warm.

— This time, you’ve spent the longest time in Japan, what do you do in your free time?
Woohyun: Bathing the upper half in the hotel.
Dongwoo: I buy things from <ドノ キホ> (T/N: It’s the name of a shop.)

— Buy what?
Dongwoo: It’s a secret, I lied to you (laughs). To buy exercise clothes.
Hoya: I made noodles to eat in the hotel.

— Eh?! That seems a little lonely.
Hoya: It’s 5 types! I ate 5 types of noodles. It was filling (laughs).
L: I went to eat shabu shabu. There were many types like salmon and pork, I was very surprised.

— Ahaha (laughs). After starting your official Japanese promotions, you’d be able to taste many things (E/N: It’s a metaphor, meaning visiting a lot of places) in Japan, no matter for work or for your free time.
L: When there’s a target, there’s also a dream, and mine is attending the ‘Kouhaku Uta Gassen’. (T/N: It’s a prestigious end-of-year music festival in Japan for only the best artists, meaning ‘Red & White Song Festival’.) That kind of exciting stage. When I filmed «Jiu Police Criminal Investigation», I also went to Daikanyama, Ebisu, Tokyo Tower, etc., many places in Tokyo. There are places where I haven’t been to; I want to go to Disneyland.
Sunggyu: For work, I want to hold a solo concert at Tokyo Dome. Personally, I want to go sight seeing. I want to eat delicious food and go to the hot springs. I want to go to Hokkaido~
Hoya: I want to go to somewhere in Shibuya where it’s very crowded and have a guerrilla live stage. Personally, I want to go to Disneyland.
Woohyun: I want to fall in love; the reason is, it’s slightly lonely.

— Woohyun is everyone’s boyfriend, right?
Woohyun: Ah, yes. I want to fall in love with the Japanese fans. In terms of work, I want our album sales to continue rising. Infinite has many good songs; I hope that the Japanese fans will be able to understand our songs better.
Sungjong: Firstly, I want to go to Disneyland to release my stress. Then, I want to spend happy times together with the hyungs. In terms of work, I hope that our Japanese fans will be able to remember everyone’s faces and be able to recognize us when we’re on the streets.
Sungyeol: I’m like Sunggyu-hyung, I want to have our own concert in the Tokyo Dome. Personally, I want to learn Japan’s culture. Then, it’s the hot springs!
Dongwoo: I want to release a hip-hop song. As Infinite is good; together with Hoya is good as well. I want to work together with Japanese artists Free Tempo and Otsuka Ai. Personally, I want to go to Disneyland and challenge many rides. Becuase it’s very big, I heard that you can’t finish playing even after 3 days and 2 nights. Then, I want to have an entire week to go around Japan.

— In the end, let’s have the leader tell us the dreams that Infinite wishes to fulfill in Japan in 2012!
Sunggyu: No matter what, we want to hold many live stages! If there’s a chance, we hope we can work together with Japanese groups.

“The end of 2010 was all practice,” Infinite says. At the end of 2011, they would definitely attend the award ceremonies and special programs of the various TV stations. In February 2012, they’d be having their first solo concert in Korea. Their popularity is rising quickly and solidly in Korea, step-by-step. In Japan, anticipate seeing various active performances after «BTD».

L looks so good in Shut Up...I don't know what he was talking about when he said he didn't feel like a flower boy compared to the rest of the cast.

His facial expressions could use a little work (especially his shocked and sad face) but I really like the character of Hyun Soo.

Seriously I don't know who is prettier between Hyun Soo and Do Il. Sometimes it Myungsoo is so good looking in shots that he almost GLOWS, but other times the long haired dude is so breathtakingly beautiful and in the show he plays the son of a known gangster which is AWESOME.

I LOVE THIS SHOW. I'm incredibly sad about Byung Hee. Even for two episodes it felt like he delivered a character as epic as Jang Geun Suk's Hwang Tae Kyung.

They both looked so good in the scene where they're by the road waiting for a girl to cross and be byunghee's muse. I'm really interested in do il's character and I hope they explore it more. I haven't seen anything from episode 3 but that sounds interesting :O

His death was so...oh man I have no words. I knew he was there just for a cameo role but I didn't want him to leave so soon and not like that :( it's probably integral that he left the show in that manner. But I can't wait to see where the rest of the show goes. It's had a great start.

I've actually noticed an improvement in his acting between episode 1 and 4.

All of them looked really good in that scene tbh. And as of episode 4 both Hyunsoo and Do Il seem to have quadrupled in hotness. Do Il especially because I have such an incredibly soft spot for drummers I can't even ;uuuuu;

The reason I love Byunghee so much is because he's like a combination of three of my most favourite characters; You're Beautiful's Taekyung, IWGP's King and Nobuta wo Produce's Akira. Instant win tbh. I'm just sad he had to leave the show at all, but I kind of understand. With his level of awesomeness, if he didn't make way for the other characters, the show might as well have changed its name to Byunghee and The Others.

I've finally finished episodes 3 and 4 and I can't wait to see more of Hyunsoo, I want to know why he's so snarky all the time especially to Do Il! And speaking of, I really love his character. He was merciless when they ganged up on Pyo Joo. I also want to see SOMETHING happen between Woo Kyung and him, since it appears he has a crush on her ;_;

I've never watched any of those shows but I'm guessing they're of pretty epic proportions too! I like that they regularly bring Byunghee up in the story (in a positive vibe instead of constantly mourning his loss), it makes dealing with his departure much easier. It feels like the others are given a chance to shine but at the same time, we're reminded of Byunghee and his effect on the group.

Hyunsoo seems to have a lot of alpha male issues especially between him and Ji Hyuk. I'm also curious about the Do Il thing, whether it's something between him and Do Il, or just his reaction to the guys in general. According to his character bio, he used to be best friends with Ji Hyuk before Byung Hee came along and perhaps that's where a lot of the tension comes from.

And the one with a crush on Woo Kyung is Do Il. Hyunsoo apparently has a thing with another girl (they say it's the girl singer who was on TV in the first or the second episode).

In a way I think Byunghee is the one who molded the guys into the people they are and his death is the thing that puts them on the path to where they're supposed to be heading. I didn't like that they made such an awesome character then killed him off, but plot-wise I thought it was a smart move.

Loving these guys. I hate how interviewers always refer to L as he visuals of Infinite, and on top of that say the rest of Infinite aren't goo dlooking. ALL of them look good. Hoya's eyebrows are so fierce THEY COULD EAT YOU! Dongwoo's smile is so bright it lit his hair on fire and all we can do is stare at his fiery gloriousnous. Sungyeol has plump baby lips with a handsome face that makes me want to hug him. SungGyu is a sexy fox-eyed fiend, and he can sneak in my home and love me aggressively ANY time. SungJong looks chic at all times. And finally L goes between smoldering hot and city boy chic 24/7 (with the exception of when he has a cute fro puff)
