SNSD’s Jessica made her acting debut last night on the seventh episode of “Wild Romance,” starring Lee Dong Wook and Lee Si Young, where she plays Kang Jong Hee, a beautiful girl with an unpredictable personality. She’s also the unforgettable first love of baseball player Park Mu Yeol (Lee Dong Wook).
After the episode aired, many viewers, especially SNSD fans, expressed their discontent with one of the lines that was used to describe Jessica’s character. In one scene, Seo Yoon Yi (Hong Jong Hyun) questioned Park Mu Yeol, “Park Mu Yeol, have you already forgotten Kang Jong Hee (Jessica)? I heard she was a slut. Is it true that guys try to sleep with her first thing if they get the chance?”
Netizens who’ve seen the drama commented, “Even if it’s just a line from a drama, it’s pretty harsh,” (ah ok) “They should have expressed it differently,” (like this?: "A little birdie told me this cute little gurl was sorta kinda like not a nice person") and “This was out of the line. I expected it to be negative but not this severe.” (rewrite the script then) However, several viewers also noted, “It wasn’t used to describe Jessica but the role she’s playing” and “It’s not a big deal. It’s just about Jessica’s character.”
“Wild Romance” received a lot of media attention for casting SNSD’s Jessica, raising viewers and fans’ expectations. As a result, the line raised a lot of eyebrows because it was used to describe Jessica’s character.
Meanwhile, “Wild Romance” recorded 6.2% (AGB Nielsen) viewership rating, a 0.2% drop from last Thursday’s rating. “Wild Romance” will air its eighth episode tonight on KBS at 9:55PM KST.

Ugh, I am so sick of this one word having so much power. Even if the character was known for sleeping around (which isn't even evident from the lines above, just that guys wanted to sleep with her), SO WHAT. There is nothing 'sorta kinda not nice' about being a sexual being.
