Barbie Pop
Their outfits are loud and sexy, their sound happy and freaky! Girlbands from South Korea are up-and-coming! POPCORN checks out the most popular female K-Pop-Acts who wants to take over Europe with their Barbie-Style!
Orange Caramel
Dreamy, innocent and naive - Orange Caramel (debuted in 2010) act like lolitas. These three girls act like super well-behaved students who start blushing as soon as a boy looks at them! Their debut-song "Magic Girl" is a happy popsong (videoclip for the song on youtube!) but we can imagine hearing this song on a children's birthday party! They promised a full album for 2012!

Lizzy, Raina and Nana are Orange Caramel, but also a part of the K-Pop Band After School.
Girls' Generation
On the one hand a Band, on the other hand a Cheerleading-Gang: Fans from far east love the nine member group from Girls' Generation because of their cool choreographies and their extravagant performances (they wear sexy uniforms most of the time!). "We want to entertain people, even when the TV is on mute!", says band-leader Taeyeon. The girls debuted in 2007, are models for expensive fashion-labels and have their own reality-shows. Now they've released their first international single "The Boys": a mash-up between korean and english lyrics.

All nine members on one photo! Girls' Generation are super famous in Asia. They've released three albums so far.
2NE1
text above the picture:
Totally cute! CL, Park Bom, Dara and Minzy (from left) debuted with 2NE1 in 2009
The girls from 2NE1 (to anyone) are pop-chameleons! Sometimes they dress up like Space-Fighters with spacy space suits, sometimes like cute Barbie-girls, sometimes like though punk-ladys. The main point is that it's different every time! Not only their looks but also their sound is rich in variety. "We mash-up Dance-Pop with Hip-Hop!", explains band-leader CL. Their Debut-album "To Anyone" was released in 2010 and there are plans for a new CD in 2012.
Kara
text on the left:
They used to be plain jane's (is that even english? im sorry i dont know how to translate this), now they're squeaky chicks: Seung Yeon, Nicole, Gyu Ri, Ji-young and Hara (from left to right)
First miss, then hit! Kara (means "sweet melody") released their first album "The First Blooming" in 2007 - with zero success. Then they changed their image: The girls became more cheekier and squeaky and suddenly released one hit after another one in South Korea! They are now the most popular girlgroup in Korea and have already released a Best-Of album in 2010! They turn their live-concerts with hip club-tracks into mega-parties. They're planning concerts in Europe in spring 2012 after performances in the US.

"The girls from 2NE1 (to anyone) are pop-chameleons!"
Did the author actually listen to the song or did he just looked at their outfit? Honest question.

Date: 2012-01-16 08:59 pm (UTC)These girls are totally taking over Korea with their Hard core Hip Hop. They're known in Korea for their singing and dancing skills, in fact they're so good on stage people call them the seven Beyonce's of Korea!!! Their member Jiyeon was asked about what her attraction is and she said "I can sing exactly like four of the other members, it's a gift". Their sound is so good that even dead people come back to life to listen to it!!
