On December 31, Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher and U.S. R&B singer Eric Benet expressed their amazement at Park Ji Min, a contestant from SBS’ new audition show, “K-Pop Star.” Park Ji Min’s cover performance of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” has earned her the #1 spot in her group last week.
Ashton Kutcher first tweeted, “this is AMAZING!!!!” with the link to a video of Park Ji Min’s cover performance here. He didn’t write anything else about the video but with nearly 9 million Twitter followers, it definitely helped Park Ji Min and “K-Pop Star” reach a wider global audience.
Moments later Eric Benet tweeted in Korean, “Korea has some crazy talent!” with the link to the same video of Park Ji Min. It appears Eric Benet used the Google Translator to tweet in Korean, showing his admiration for the Korean amateur singer. He even left several tweets apologizing for his poor Korean grammar later.
