SNSD was voted singer of the year for the third consecutive time by every age group, according to the Korean Gallup poll.

The Korean Gallup poll asked a group of 3,401 people, male and female aged between 13 and 59, to pick three singers who stood out the most in 2011. Overall, 26.1% of the answers was SNSD. They topped individual age groups with 30% of teenagers, 29.2% of people in their 20s, 29.5% in 30s, 25.2% in 40s and finally 18.2% in 50s.

For other singers the poll showed different results according to age groups. Male idol groups such as Big Bang, BEAST and Infinite were voted considerably more by teenagers while people in their 30s and 40s voted singers from the MBC variety show "I Am A Singer", like Kim Bum Soo, Lim Jae Bum and Park Jung Hyun.

While SNSD has been voted as the best singers since 2009, their latest single "The Boys" was ranked number three for the most popular song of this year. The first spot was held by IU's "Good Day."

Also from the The Korean Gallup poll, the best rookies of the year were voted as Infinite and Dal Shabet.

Wow, goes to show how low their standards are tbh. Then again 3,401 people isn't such a big number.

Your butthurt is showing, this is as accurate as it can get, but whatever stay in denial.

lol well considering I like SNSD there's nothing to be butthurt about. I never doubted the accuracy of the poll I just don't agree with it. There's much better singers in Korea than the girls are as a whole. If you can't see that well then that's your problem.

This polls as well as digital and physical sales are all about popularity, nobody was saying they were the best singers in Korea; and also, if vocals were the only thing that matters in music, neither of us would be here on the first place.

I've been in Kpop long enough to know that, but not all Kpop fans have. Regardless of their reason for picking them they still own the title of best singers though, and I don't agree with that or find it fair to other singers. Speak for yourself because I don't only listen to Korean music because of the catchy tunes and dances, I do follow a couple of groups like that, but mostly I focus on vocals. Very few idol groups actually have good vocals but there are some. However, that's why I don't listen to only idol music but various genres of Korean music, and those I'm definitely in for the vocals.

And this is why people who say Yoona isn't needed are just so stupid. Ahjummas recognize and love her from the dramas she's done in the past.

The other girls aren't liked?? It isn't like Yoona is disposable, but I'm sure the other girls draw quite a bit of recognition too.

I definitely didn't mean that the other girls aren't well liked. It's just that Yoona is the general Korean public's favorite.

what she meant was Yoona helped alot in drawing in the 40+ crowd with her dramas.

it's true, my mum loves her and watches all her dramas hahaha.

their latest single "The Boys" was ranked number three for the most popular song of this year.
really?

That surprised me too... I do get that SNSD is like super popular, but "The Boys" was so cringeworthy.

Sones probably knew about the polling before hand tbh.

Most people aren't aware of the music scene half the time, they probably just said a song they've heard and Korea loves to blast the Boys everywhere.

Huh... I'm not sure this poll actually proves they have musical versatility. It just proves that their music is popular within a wider range of the population.

not that i'm not happy of infinite winning in the poll but i'm slightly nitpicking at the fact that they're no longer rookies. they already debuted last year. guess that shows how much nugu they were before.

Artist or Brand/package?

But good for them, it's nice to know they're doing well even though the Boys era has been their worst one.

Over 60s and under 13s are not age groups. Ok then. Will stop paying attention to everything kiddies and older people say then.

Also, I'm a hardcore sone, but they are definitely not the best singers in K-Pop. I know it meant more like entertainers of the year, which to me they were, but when you use the s-word, there is definitely better out there than my girls.
