Is it just my ears being weird or did they sound quite...off-key at times in those videos? Sometimes I swear I can't hear anything and other times...idk, are my ears defective?
it's not just you. i also noticed jj and junsu wearing magical gloves in IDS, which keep disappearing and reappearing. the editors seem to have mashed recordings from different days into one performance and even then the sound is still a bit unfortunate. at least we know they're not lip syncing? idk.
They combined the performances from both days really awkwardly. Whoever tried to remove the background noises did it awkwardly because they took out the backing vocals as well. You can't even hear the stage fireworks go off at the end.
I went through both videos thinking "thank god they sounded better when I saw them", so no, they didn't seem to do as good in this concert :/ which kinds of relieves me, now I don't have the temptation of buying this.
I was there both nights and it was freaking cold. Wouldn't be suprising the off-key was due to the cold. They were wearing rather thin clothings. Even though I'm all bundled up, I almost had a brain freeze cause it was really, really cold. It started snowing the 2nd half of the concert on both days. In addition, on the first day, all 3(especially Junsu and Jaejoong) were rather upset that the dome has to be tore down because the snow blizzard in the morning tore it. They sounded so apologetic about the dome. Not trying to give them excuse but these could play a part on the off-keyness? I dunno.
It was and still is a surreal experience for me reminiscing JYJ's Seoul concert. I must say that they improved very time I see them. When I saw them again in Bangkok and Busan, they sounded more confident and so much better.
They probably had to combine the 2 days because Jaejoong fell while performing this song lol
I don't think they sound bad at all during I.D.S. The lack of background vocals make some parts sound weird because they'll just sing the adlib instead of the actual lyrics. They did something with the audio because you hardly hear the fans and you can't hear the fireworks go off at the end.
I agree. It`s not only about their voices, but about the sound in general. They did something to it. Like I said before, videos sound like MR removed videos.
Empty was fine, but ia with the mashup of video, sound, and at times offkey vocals(which I give them a pass cause it's pretty much snowing temperature) for IDS. It does sound MR Removed at parts when they removed some things in the background but not all .__.
At first I was excited to see the videos but it Jae not JYJ. :( Not watching. Was their really nothing about the rest of the members or is Jaejoong this persons bias?
The DVD set apparently has a set for each person. Like there's Jae focused vids, Su focused vids, Chun, and then regular JYJ con. That's why it was so expensive. It's like 4 versions of the same thing.
my wallet is safe (that was one expensive dvd). They didn't sound that great; it was a bit disappointing. At least it was live, and wasn't touched up too much.
Will be curious to see what the vocals of the non-member focused is like. Or if the vocals we're hearing IS the non-member focus. Whatever editing they did, they fucked it up. But not the first time I've seen video edited like this on multi-day performances.
