‘Palm News’ to reveal proof of SM Entertainment’s obstruction of JYJ’s activities?

On December 22nd, journalist Lee Sang Ho revealed that he would be showing proof of SM Entertainment‘s obstruction of JYJ‘s activities for the very first time through Palm TV‘s ‘Lee Sang Ho’s Palm News‘.

Representatives of the show stated, “For the past 14 months, journalist Lee Sang Ho will be exclusively unveiling the investigations by the Fair Trade Commission. Officials of the FTC have been investigating SM Entertainment since March, and results show that there was indeed proof of the obstruction of JYJ’s activities, as well as a fine of several hundreds of thousands in penalty being processed.”

The show is expected to include an exclusive interview of Jung Hae Im, the first official figure to lead the investigations into SM’s 13 year contracts and minimize them to seven years. Jung is once again at the forefront of the recent issue with the FTC.

The chief of the FTC, Lee Tae Hwi, however, revealed through Star Today that this was not the case. He stated, “I do confirm that there are current investigations being done regarding the issue with SM and JYJ, but we have yet to lay down a fine worth the amount they claim. I also find it difficult to reveal the details of our investigations at this point, and promise to release an official statement once things begin to materialize.”

The episode will broadcast on December 22nd at 6 p.m. KST.

Just summarised Palm TV, it didn't spend much time anyway.

1. SM’s head office was investigated by officers from Fair Trade Commission on Mar 15, but there was NO single report about this.

2. It’s been ‘internally’ decided that SM/KFCAI/KEPA(Korea Entertainment Producers’ Association) interfered JYJ’s activities based on systematic actions and SM would be imposed penalty between 500M won and 800M won. It also revealed that SM constantly tried to discount the penalty until the end.

3. The news showed the official document sent by KFPCAI (some parts were reported but never the full contexts, and the paper shown today seemed to be the whole documentation from KFPCAI) and said KFTC selected the document and other things as the evidence.

Oh, the journalist also added that SM is always welcome to his studio to dispute about this, and LSM is most welcomed.  (Don’t forget that this journalist had reported SM’s unfair contracts in 2001. LSM sued him on charges of false accusation, but lost the case. What a relationship! )

I am just about shining-eyed that someone is speaking up for JYJ on television. We've had judges and politicians mention the asshattery, but those are people that you only find out about if you're already in the fandom. The only time the general public heard about the cockblocking of JYJ and rose up against it was when KBS took them off the Jeju Island broadcast, and then they seemed to forget about it all over again.
